Big Terrible Thing

This is important at any time, but is crucial now. The next president may well be forced to shepherd us through the first nuclear event since World War II, the first terrorist attack or missile attack. "Man has never had a weapon he didn't use," Ronald Reagan said in conversation, and we have been most fortunate man has not used these weapons to kill in the past 50 years. But half the foreign and defense policy establishment fears, legitimately, that the Big Terrible Thing is coming, whether in India-Pakistan, or in Asia or in lower Manhattan.

When it comes, if it comes, the credibility -- the trustworthiness -- of the American president will be key to our national survival. We may not be able to sustain a president who is known for his tendency to tell untruths.

If we must go through a terrible time, a modest man of good faith is the one we'll need in charge. That is George Walker Bush, governor of Texas.

I hope to God it never happens in the US. But if it does, North Korea should be the first to cease to exist as a result. Next would be Mecca and Medina.

This was written during the Impeached Rapist's administration, in support of Dubya.

Remember, this was written on November 2, 2000 -- before GWB had been elected, before all of the Florida nonsense. Peggy Noonan seemed to have some sort of "vision" as to what the next adminstration (GWB's) would bring.

I think we'll have to weather more terrorism AND nuclear (or at least dirty weapon) hits. What a responsibility. What a President.

Could you imagine if Al Gore had been President on 9-11-2001? or during the recent events in the Middle East?

The very thought gives me chills and a reason to thank God everyday that it didn't happen.

My speculation is that if Al Gore were currently President the price of gas would be about $4 per gallon and the US economy would be tanked with inflation running at about 10%.

It is a near certainty that nuclear and/or thermo-nuclear weapons will be used in anger, and probably sooner than later.

What has amazed me all my life is the successful demonization of nukes by the leftist, Socialist, Commie pukes. A nuke is just a bigger bang-for-the-buck! It is NOT unholy, but if you're a bad guy, It'll sure-as-Hell get your attention!

A nuke is just a logical extrapolation of the first hand-lit and hand-thrown grenades, just as the 30mm Vulcan Cannon in the nose of an A-10 Warthog is the extended result of a flintlock pistol.

We will always develop better weapons of war - it is our nature, and no amount of proselyting is ever going to change that! It is only the nature of war that changes.

We've gone from mano-a-mano, to tribal conflict, conquer-and-subjugate, to Massed-Armies on the battlefield. Now, we're in a kind of a Judo-War - an infiltrate-and-backstab, where our enemy understands our weaknesses, and uses them to trip us.

As amazing as it is to me, the death and destruction of 9-11 was not yet enough damage to our Country to make our elected pols take action. We know who the perps are, including the Dictatorship-Nations that support them, and we're now waiting for them to strike us again!

We, Western Civilization, is in a Jihad, a war against Islam, ALL of Islam, and we'd better wake-up soon. A Conventional-War Solution is still barely possible, but only if WE attack the sources of funding real soon, and we all know that it starts with Saudi Arabia.

Political-Correctness was not an accident - it was a plan! I'm old enough to remember watching a WW-II movie,(Battaan?) where William Holden(?) says: "We'll get you, you dirty Nip Bastards!"

Today we get: "Islam is a peaceful thing", and a Tom Clancy novel about Arab Terrorists (Sum of all Fears) gets changed to a POS about white, neo-nazi Americans.

The 'Fifth-Column' is alive and well-entrenched in the USA, and we are at war, and the Pledge of Allegiance has just been declared Unconstitutional! God help us! < / rant off >Stay well armed and vigilant, folks. We're in for a rough ride...........FRegards

Bravo! Well written. Too bad the majority of the sheeple not only won't see this, they don't care. Mindless morons, blindly going about the daily routine, never giving a thought to what is happening around them.

I agree gonzo, we ARE in for a rough ride. It makes me sick to think of Islam and the radicals in it who are teaching their babies to hate. It sure is a demonic religion. We should go after them big time. I'll be surprised if we do but I can hope.

ME, TOO! I shudder to think what he and his cronies would do to this nation. I shudder to think what Clinton DID do to this nation and what his horrific wife would do if she ever got to be president. We really need to unite and fight those peopld at election time. Thank God for President Bush. Keep praying for wisdom for him and for his cabinet members. He's carrying a big load on his shoulders.

Its also why the mid term elections are so important. We need to get rid of Wellstone and Carnahan and a few other dim-bulb Liberal kooks in the senate who are side tracking W's judiciary nominations.
The big, BIG picture this fall is the Supreme Court and the potential to name one or two new conservatives in the next couple of years.

Supreme Court.......you're right, that is the objective, to do that we need a majority in both houses and we need to keep the Whitehouse. Conventional wisdom was Gore to win with double digits. They are still in shock....let's hit em again before they 'snap out of it'.

"...Somebody complained about my blank profile page..."

It was me, pal, and I knew you didn't do cars! I knew you were a steel-and-guts guy!

"...Mindless morons, blindly going about the daily routine, never giving a thought to what is happening around them..."

Don't be too tough on them, pal. Most people are working their asses off, just to be able to feed their kids, and walk around on the surface of this globe.

The people on the right side who get involved, and learn about the inequities, like us, have usually been whacked by some gummint agency. We're called 'Activists' by the Left, and a 'Vast-Right-Wing-Conspiracy' by some other liars.

Most Americans just want to live the American-dream, and I can't blame them. It's a great life.

Unfortunatly, in the words of Jimmy Durante, it takes a "Catastastroke" to awake the 'Warrior of America'! I thought 9-11 would wake up the pols. It did not!

The Congresscritters and Senators will fly on protected or private jet-aircraft, and the public citizens can use the Eisenhower Interstate System! Guess what? It works for me!

Let the Airlines die! Who needs 'em! Now watch your tax-dollars, pal! .............FRegards

Mary, my opinion is that Islam was created by men to perpetuate male-domination in a tribal society, with zero democratic principals.

More in a FReepmail, babe............FRegards

I'm not fooled, Crazy. I'm just an old war-dog, and I mourn our losses of our good and decent soldiers, fighting on our behalf.

I just wish the democRATS felt the same.............FRegards
