I'd give my eye teeth (if I had any) to have the Republicans win a large majority in the Senate and House this election cycle and then add to that majority in 2004 while keeping the Whitehouse (meaning re-elect Bush). Guess that makes me a Bush-bot. I don't care. Pile on the labels. Paste on the graphics. I just want to set the Democrats back for about 40 years instead of us wandering in the wilderness for another 40 ourselves. Make the liberals suffer for a change. Sheesh they've had it for 75 years all ready. And bungled up the Republic but good. Time for the pendulum to swing back the other way for awhile.

Well said, Jim. Guess I'm a Bush-bot as well. It makes me so angry to see people whining that things aren't "perfect" about Bush, when they should be rejoicing that the Dem party has been practically shattered by his being in the White House. People these days seem to flailing away trying to find their Utopian "ideal" and don't look at what's really possible, as opposed to what they'd LIKE to happen. We need to completely gut the Dem party, for once and for all, and THAT'S the bottom line. Thank you for Free Republic!!
yes, this is called kissing up!! LOL!

JimRob, you've always been more than fair with me, and you know where I stand overall.

I would like to see a strong conservative/libertarian(small l) majority as well, and I'm working here on it with the local party. I've seen your old quotes from 99, and I think both of us have changed a little since IMO, we're both realists.

Right now in Michigan, we have a good strong conservative running for Carl Lenin's seat, and a good conservative candidate for governor, attorney general, and secretary of state.

As irked as I have been with Bush lately, I'm not going to punish the rest of the ticket, or worry about 2004 when we have a fight in our own backyard this year. Dick Posthumus is a good guy and went to bat for us(MCRGO), as have Rocky, and and Mike Cox.

I don't want to see Jenny Granholm as our next gov. Think of Bill Klinton without the sex scandals but the communist views.

BTW - I'd love to see a Governor Simon.

"Time for the pendulum to swing back the other way for awhile."

Yes, it is...and bless you. You are the only other person besides me that I have heard or read using the "pendulum" analogy to describe political trends in the last...well...over twenty year, I guess.

It is OUR turn now. We have a chance to undo at least some of the cultural damage done to this nation by the political left. There is NOTHING wrong with seizing that chance. Hmmm...we'd be wrong NOT to.

Once in my life I would like to see the GOP have the majorities Democrats once had:

103rd Congress
In session during 1993-1995

Senate
Republicans: 43
Democrats: 57

House
Republicans: 176
Democrats: 258
Independents: 1

95th Congress
In session during 1977-1979

Senate
Republicans: 38
Democrats: 61
Independents: 1

House
Republicans: 143
Democrats: 292

Democrats had more than a two to one majority in the House under Carter. Those are the numbers needed to get things accomplished. Our system is designed to be gummed up. The only way to ungum it is to kick out as many Democrats as we can. That done, we can fight among ourselves. I'll worry about which conservative faction wins once liberals are a harmless minority.
