[history]
Phoenix police shot and killed Pete the Dog on Thursday, leaving the pet's 10-year-old owner horrified.
"He never bit anybody in his life," said a teary-eyed Phoebe Quigg, who was standing less than four feet from the dog when an officer shot him twice in the head Thursday afternoon, killing him instantly.

*bump*
I hate rottweilers and pitbulls. Shoot em all in the head.
Almost got attacked by a rott two weeks ago. Wanted to flatten its head with a baseball bat. Vicious sons of b$%#$es.

Agreed... sad but true.

Theorem #1: Anyone who would question anything any LEO would do is desecrating the graves of the FDNY and NYPD heroes who died on September 11th.
Theorem #2: No sacrifice is too large for the peasants to make in the name of "Anti-Terror."

Hardesty insisted police search her house while trauma counselors consoled Phoebe. I smell a big, juicy lawsuit, and this time I approve.

What do you mean you "almost got attacked" last week?

Vicious sons of b$%#$esWell, in fact vicious dogs are either bitches or sons of bitches.
;-)
Thought I'm poking fun at your language, I agree with your point. The "authorities" are way too lax about menacing dogs. Though my wife and I own a dog (okay, a chihuahua, but that's almost a dog), I could kill a dog that is menacing me with no more emotion than clipping my toenails. If it's somebody's beloved family pet, that should teach them to keep their next dog tethered or indoors.

They thought he might have been trained to attack to protect drug assets, Phoenix police Sgt. Randy Force said. Hold on a damn minute. They are called to the house because of "illegally parked cars" - nothing else - and the guy thinks he can claim he thought the dog was "trained to attack to protect drug assests". Drugs assets, not private property.
The WOD has given LEO's the excuse to shoot first, ask questions later - all because of "drugs".
Anyone shoots my dog on my property, LEO or not, they will be next.

What about in their own fenced-in yard??? Hmmm???? Is that ok with you??? ;0)

Seems like they could take the body to the vet and get a definitive answer on weight and breed. ???

Kinda the same as the cop "thought" the dog "might" be trained to attack....paranoid.
Media has found a good shock value subject and overblown it,ever wonder why they don't report the full size poodle attacks that happen?

What do you mean you "almost got attacked" last week? He saw some scaaaaarrrrrrryyyyy dogs behind some fences(or was tresspassing) and prayed they couldn't clear the fence. You know, "almost attacked". Maybe he can define how a person "almost attacks" someone.

I don't care for vicious dogs of any breed, but I want to ask:
Were you on the owner's property?

I could kill a dog that is menacing me with no more emotion than clipping my toenails. Just remember, the owner probably feels that way about you(dog shooters).

Kawa's version dramatically differs, police said. Kawa, who was disciplined in 1990 for excessive use of force, said the dog came at him growling, barking and snapping.

Kawa's prior discipline includes an eight-hour suspension for using his left hand to choke a handcuffed prisoner in the back of a squad car, according to public records. Is using your right hand in the front of a squad car OK?
