An attempt by Massachusetts Democrats to make a campaign issue out of Mitt Romney's three-year absence from his home state to run the Salt Lake City's winter Olympic games appears to be backfiring.

After being pounded for weeks by Democratic officials and candidates who are trying to get the Republican gubernatorial candidate kicked off the ballot, the latest poll of registered voters shows Mr. Romney's favorable approval rating has jumped by seven points and that he easily beats all of his Democratic rivals.

Looks like Mitt Romney will win the Taxachusetts state house in November. If the Rats lose in a state where they own the political turf, they have only themselves to blame for the result.

So true. Romney must be saying to himself, 'with enemies like these, who needs allies?'

I'm rooting for Romney. He's got what it takes to win in MA and it's time for that state to have a change.

He's the only choice for thinking people. Carla Howell would be my choicre if they blocked Romney from running.

Mitt gave Fat Teddy a good run and took western MA easily.

But with all the government hacks, government contract recipients and union workers... he couldn't win.

O'Brien has a slim lead over that scum-bag Birmingham. Reich-the-Marxist-Dwarf is back in the pack.

All the dims want to stop the state income tax reduction that was passed.

Can you believe this sh_t?!

For the record...Massachusetts has had Republican governors since William Weld was elected in 1990 (Weld, Celucci, Acting Governor Swift). If a Democrat defeated Romney, it would effectively make Massachusetts a one-party state.

Yup, that's right. The Republicans gave us Acting Governor Jane Swift.(She's not a true Republican, and she's not to Swift!)

The last sentence should read "She's not a Republican, and she's not too swift". Oops.
