Israel Vs. CNN
Communication Minister Reuven Rivlin will be meeting with The Cable News Networks (CNN) CEO Eason Jordan, later on today. Jordan asked for the meeting after Rivlin called on Jews worldwide to boycott the network, for their seemingly anti-Israel/pro-PLO reporting. Rivlin has also said that he would have no objection, if viewers make the request, of taking CNN (and Englands BBC) off the air in Israel. The last straw were statements made last week by CNN founder Ted Turner, equating Palestinian terrorism with Israeli self-defense. CNN has made an effort to distance itself from Turners remarks.
In other damage control efforts, CNN is now promoting a series of reports by CNN journalist, and former Jerusalem Post columnist Wolf Blitzer, which will focus on Israeli victims of terror. The series called Victims of Terror will air this week.
CNN has also decided to refrain from airing statements/videos made by terrorists and their families. According to the media-watching group CAMERA (The Committee for Accuracy in Mid-East Reporting in America) the move is an important step toward ending the unconscionable blurring of perpetrator and victim. CAMERA points out that CNNs coverage of the Middle East still has serious problems

All who want the truth should boycott CNN. Their position on the Mid-East is pro-terrorist and slanted so badly to the left you would think Arafat was a saint instead of the Terrorist he is!

A boycott by the viewers will not do much; but, a boycott of CNN's advertisers, now that could make a difference!

Replacing CNN with Fox News on Israel TV would be a huge event... Its not the number of viewers CNN would lose, its the credibility Fox News would gain.

The only way to shut down the opposition is to completely, utterly reject them altogether. We do make a difference when we block them in our homes and make an effort to learn who their sponsers are and boycott them. Israel has the chance to take them completely off the airwaves altogether. What could make a better statement? It's not an issue of free speech as many people would say (even though our Constitution simply doesn't mean anything beyond our borders [and sometimes within it].) It's an issue of why the h*ll should these people subsidize a network that is actively working in favor of their destruction by supporting their enemies and promoting propanda against their very existence? I don't think there's much of a decision involved here.

.......All who want the truth should boycott CNN...
I am intrigued by the concept of a CNN boycott. A better and more forceful action would be for all FReepers with an @AOL.com e mail address to find a new ISP.
AOL is now the source of the CNN bias. There is no legitimate reason for any FReeper to pay AOL money. Their rates are high, they still drop connections and don't provide any service not available elsewhere cheaper.
AOL/TIME/WARNER is an enemy of conservative America.

I have never been able to understand why many people who are public figures and are Jewish end up being big liberals. I am not saying this to be anti-semetic (believe me, I support Israel's right to defend itself against the barbarians). I just have to wonder why this happens. I would think they would be educated enough to realize that liberalism/socialism is wrong.
Maybe someone has an answer for this?

Rivlin called on Jews worldwide to boycott the network, for their seemingly anti-Israel/pro-PLO reporting. It's a good flip-flop for Conservatives. And it bears out the truth of we who have supported Jews all through many of our friends' mindless support of PC.

So correct. AOL is horrible - it's the playground of pediphiles, red necks and other unmentionables. You can usually find a much better resource for Internet access without much of a search - oh and don't just jump to MSN because that is just as bad.
Look at AOL's great "business savy" - they bough Netscape and let it fall behind Micro$oft. They almost went out of business once before - maybe with enough people ditching them and a conservative boycott of CNN, the deathnail could fall.
It is a shame that you can't watch TV without an AOL advertisement.
