The image of Eleanor Clift serves as a reminder that your marriage could be worse ...

Eleanor usually gets my dander up, but you've got to admit that this time she's got a good point.

Republicans loved him. He was one of them in spirit and in party registration.

Huh?...one in spirit?

Only Republicans could love the man who sent their FBI files to Craig L. with notes attached that basically said "if you need more, just holler, love Louie".

Freeh should have his ass is hauled before congress to explain his angle on the 9-11 attacks. Freeh did manage to bail out just in time, so to speak.

Yes. She may be off on some of the details or her 'spin' on them, but her basic question is sound.

Why did he let the FBI’s computer system deteriorate to the degree he did? Critics say Freeh didn’t appreciate computer technology and resisted using even e-mail. Supporters say he regularly implored Congress for more money to upgrade the computer system, but that lawmakers didn’t find such requests sexy and couldn’t brag about them at home, so Freeh’s pleadings often went nowhere.

Sigh...Eleanor, who do you suppose has the correct answer? Ever thought of actually doing your job? I keep noticing an increasing tendency in "reporters" to asking rhetorical questions. The passage above is typical; it appears that a simple FOIA request would reveal the answer.....

Looking at Eleanor Rodham Clift's picture illustrates that somewhere there is the "Tim Taylor ('Tool Time' fame) of cosmetics" ready to take on the impossible jobs.

A used car dealer could be sent to jail for doing what she's done to fake her appearance.

The reason Freeh hasn't been hauled before Congress is obvious to me on two major points:

1: Yeah, he was director of the FBI during the "turbulent decade" which brought us some famous (and hideous) FBI coverups, like Ruby Ridge, Waco and the OKC bombing. Same Congress now as then. Just imagine who he would take down with him if he ever decided to talk? He could probably take most of Executive and Legislative branches down WITH him...heheheheheh....so even if Freeh DOES grow a concience, he won't be allowed to talk. National security.

2: The so-called Congressional investigative committees who are allegedly looking into possible FBI misconduct aren't interested in finding out who knew what and when they knew it! They're out to damage the president by using Meuller, who'd only been director for a week prior to 9-11 as their scapegoat.

ROFLOL...I just finished reading the article. My original reply was a knee jerk reaction...and here we have:

"But Republicans hate Clinton so much, they would find a way to slam him even if the facts don’t hold up."

And the Democrats are making such a stink about Bush and Mueller, even though the facts don't hold up, because....?

" 'He didn’t do everything he could have, but that’s not a reason to hold him up as a scapegoat,' says a Senate Democratic aide.

So, the Democrats will hold Mueller up as a scpegoat instead.

I raise my cup of coffee in a toast to Eleanor Clift: "here's to proof that even the rabid left can get SOMETHING right - while STILL managing to get it wrong."

Ronald Kessler in his new book Bureau: the Secret History of the FBI portrays Freeh as an utterly incompetent director.

An ex-agent, Freeh was obsessively anti-management, driving many good people out of the bureau. He involved himself directly in investigations -- rather than managing -- and destroyed the morale of the agency.

All in all the book is a good read. Among other things Kessler gives the lie to the nonsensical claim that Hoover was a cross-dresser. He is also positive about Mueller.

Freeh was a Clinton man through-and-through, no matter how easily the Republicans were duped to believe otherwise. If he were not a Clinton man, Clinton would have purged him as quickly as he purged his predecessor.

Maybe Freeh is on Family Leave again...I hear his dog had to go to the vet, so he took a few weeks off like he did before!!

What an incomptent boob, but hey, they ALL were incopetent Clinton Hires and that's how the Clinton's got by with MURDER. Incompetent AND CORRUPT!

Eleanor "LET ME FINISH" Clift never looked so good....and her husband is her wussy bookend....he writes for the Cleveand Very Plain Dealer.

The answer is quite simple, both Democrats and Republicans are ashamed of him. Democrats because he did the job, Republicans because he didn't.

I agree. And I agree that it makes more sense to interview Freeh than Mueller, if they want to know what happened leading up to 9/11.

She looks worse up close than in any photo's. MBNA is the retirement home for X FBI Monkey Mucks. Hell almost everone in their executive branch is a former FBI Chief. Haul Little Louie in front of Congress and let's get down.
