(snip)...Can it be true that these PBS clowns, like sponges, have no conscious awareness of what they do or say? Like motile sponges, they seem to lurch through life reacting to stimuli at the most basic level. Yet, the attribution of political theory to sponges is quite clear here. Sponges which compete are bad capitalist sponges. They would attend a football game if they were human.
Sponges which cooperate are good socialist sponges. The very essence of communalism. They would support a no-grade system in a public school -- thus relieving union (communally-acting) teachers of the necessity of lowering standards to the point that A-students are anybody who doesn't drool on their test paper....(snip)

Sponge Bob, what is up with that? My husband and son are both talking about that show a lot. Making sure they don't miss it and such. Never watched it myself.

I totally miscalculated the topic of this thread. I thought it was going to ask for examples of moranic media moments and I was ready to cite the moment I hear "Get ready for the Fox Report!" and flip from Fox to avoid the audio visual barrage of a truly moranic news show, or whenever I hear "it's another busy newsday and we have lots to tell you, stay tuned ...", or whenever CNN manages to squeeze a sublime commercial for Hollywood into a news segement, or whenever a "news station" flashes "breaking news" for the identical update I read about on the 'net a day earlier. So, I miscalculated. Never mind.
