[history]
The International Criminal Court (ICC) opens for business on July 1. One of the United Nations' most worrysome creations, it is independent of any rule of law other than its own. It has jurisdiction over war crimes ranging from genocide to environmental "crimes," which the ICC defines as causing more harm to the environment than the mission requires. Bill Clinton signed the treaty establishing the ICC as one of his last acts of contempt toward the American soldier. It must have amused him to think about boys on a battlefield worrying about which snipers were hiding near the nest of some endangered species.

Seeking the U.N. immunity resolution is a bad idea. By asking for it, we give the ICC a legitimacy that the president took away from it in May. If we need a U.N. resolution to immunize our people, what happens if we can't get it? Will our people not be immune without it? We shouldn't muddy that pond, or delay other essential action to resolve the ICC question. This is right on the mark. Bush should not be screwing up the resolve on this.
By getting the United Nations to agree to exempt our armed force 'if' operating under the United Nations auspice, we turn over our sovereignty and armed forces to the United Nation and castrate our leaders and the war effort. We would never again be able to take unilateral military action. Everything would first have to be approved by the United Nations or be subject to the ICC.

How can two solid objects exsist in the same space? How can we have a United States Gov't AND a World Gov't? How long before the ICC or World court will send it's own appointed laws over to this land and expect us to obide by them? THIS IS NOT GOOD.

Damn that JohnHuang2! Every time I find a good article to post, I find that he's beaten me to it!

The ICC, or the anti-court. The ICC is about making courts and intelligent free deliberations of a free people illegal.

Bill Clinton signed the treaty establishing the ICC as one of his last acts of contempt toward the American soldier. It must have amused him to think about boys on a battlefield worrying about which snipers were hiding near the nest of some endangered species. The damage that Clinton did to our military and our sovereignty is just mindboggling!

The ICC is a terrorist organization. Any attempt to prosecute American citizens would be an act of war.
This is the line in the sand America. Time to enforce it.
