Dear Dan Rather: I think you owe Gov. Jeb Bush and all of FL's law-abiding citizens an apology....

CBS News: "Some shady moving companies quote one price before the move, and then jack it up after they have possession of the furniture. Government regulators in this area are severely understaffed. More..."
I watched the your CBS News this evening, and I think you owe Gov. Jeb Bush and all law-abiding FL citizens two on-air apologies for your news show's incomplete -- and deceptive -- reporting tonight.
I was especially interested in seeing the "Eye on America" segment about the nice couple who moved, and was ripped off by unethical movers.

This is a serious post. I hope Dan Rather apologizes on-air tomorrow night, or I will never be able to have any faith in his station's news.
I'm truly an independent voter and I do surf the channels, but I will not stop at CBS anymore if this slip-slod, sloppy, false, deceptive reporting by CBS is acceptable to Mr. Rather. I thought he said he was trying to improve CBS since Election 2000. But, I don't think he is trying, based on what I saw tonight.

Sorry. You are NOT on his frequency, Kenneth.
Perhaps if you were a Communist....
To: Diogenesis
Well, you may be right. But, I am going to give him a chance. If he says nothing about this tomorrow, then, he can broadcast his news to Castro instead of in my living room.

The URL is just to an article about the law. Did you send this to Rather?
I stopped watching network news years ago, myself. Nothing compares to what you get on FR.

Good catch, summer.....Dan Blather doing what he does best.... a sneaky biased attempt to smear our outstanding Gov. Jeb Bush using FEAR....False Evidence Appearing Real!
BTW I admire your ability to even watch him....I won't risk my blood pressure going going UP UP UP!

I am shocked Mr. Rather would intentionally try to deceive the news viewing public. Is nothing sacred?
To: summer
Fox news cable would love to have this story and they would run with it as would Bill O'Reilly or Hannity or Laura Ingraham. Anybody know the emails? Unbelievabe improper reporting.

The CBS web site URL is in my letter, if that's what you mean. Those are the only two links I mentioned: the actual law, and the CBS web site. It's all in my letter above. Thanks for your post. :)

You mean he lied or made a mistake about the state this happened in?
To: jwalsh07
Thanks, jwalsh07. I wish I had posted this sooner, so that maybe a person in CA could have caught it as well. Because I am certain of the impression that segment gave -- and, it was a false and wrong impression. I would like to think it was not deliberate, but, this is an election year, and frankly, the Dems are getting blown out of the water here in FL. And, Mr. Rather has repeatedly made it clear whose party he favors. I wish he would favor me, the consumer.

Here's my complaint: (1) CBS never mentioned the new law signed by Gov Bush, so it was a lie to say that FL consumers have no protection from crooked movers; and (2) CBS gave a false impression about the location of the horror story move, by omitting the states of the move, and then signing off with "reporting from Tampa, FL" -- leading a viewer to believe this nightmare happened in Tampa, FL, when in fact, it did not (according to the CBS web site)_.

Are you really that breathless over Stephanopolis (or however you spell his name; Walsh is easier)? He used to be cute, but he is pushing 40 or more. Granted, he looks a hell of a lot better than I do. TIC.
