How long before Tancredo declares his intentions for 2004?

I really long to cast a vote somewhere, somehow reflecting my views on Immigration. I haven't always felt this way, but I do now. I think others feel likewise, and there is a latent political movement that can be tapped.
For example, I would vote for any Republican presidential primary candidate who supported an immigration reform agenda. Sorry GW.

This is long overdue. President Bush should get behind Tancredo on this matter if he is serious about doing everything he can to protect Americans from terrorist attacks.

I'm not crazy about this--just as I'm not crazy about involving the military in other aspects of law enforcement.
If the military needs to be involved, then a far better response would be to invade Mexico, and replace its governing institutions with something more congenial to US interests.
Just sticking troops on the border will not accomplish anything and sets a bad precedent.

IMHO , It's way past time.

These Tancy/IRC threads always seem to have two or three "donation reminders" in the first ten replies.
Another implausible idea to profit from an emotional issue?

I stand with Tancredo. Lets do it while we still have American troops in America.
This isn't going to sit well with Bush. What is he going to do with all of those houses that we are going to have to pay for so that he can provide the American dream to them?
ADIOS JORGE!!

at least there is someone in Washington who is willing to stand up against the arrogance of these illegal aliens/parasites. He's got my support.

Hmm, this is different for a change, especially coming from our politicians.
It's hard to believe.

If the initiative does not involve minefields and sniper, then it will be a waste of time
In the absence of anything bad happening, a Mexican will just keep trying until he succeeds,
Perhaps, if you're caught, you get let off a boat on the SOUTHERN tip of Mexico. If it's just the first time, they'll even bring the boat to within reasonable swimming distance of shore

I don't want the military squandered along the border, and squandering is the appropriate term under the present conditions.
Gimme a Border Patrol Volunteer Reserve, where American men not serving in the military can be trained to assist the Border Patrol in some sort of supervised support capacity. We could serve two week shifts once or twice a year.

If the Democrats want the Senate, all they have to do is run on a platform for enforceing the immigration laws. I would vote for them in a second. Of course the Republicans could too, but it wouldn't be PC, so I'm not counting on it. We all know how stiff their spines are.

Yes it's not only about time, but it's also a crystal clear demonstration of how horribly Bush and his gutless administration have utterly bungled and even blocked a solution to the massive and ongoing illegal immigration problem they have done absolutely nothing about. This makes the current administration as corrupt and worthless as the former one on this and other critical issues and cannot be relied on to do a damned thing to stop it. Especially now when millions of lives are at risk from insane wide open borders, politics and party loyalty are meaningless and have no bearing on national security.
Only the ignorant gripe and moan with fear about OUR military being "let loose" on our borders to control what it is in reality an invasion pure and simple. As if utter chaos and total disorder are preferable. The US-Mexican border IS an international border just as the US-Canadian border is, and is within the most basic Constitutional duty of our national government to secure and control it with armed military troops if necessary. And, there is ample evidence that the civilian agency the INS is utterly incapable of doing this. Yes, of course punishing and fining domestic employers and enablers of this illegal flow must go hand in hand with border security, but the bleeding must be stopped first and stopped cold, no more bullshit and no more excuses.
