I'm not crazy about this--just as I'm not crazy about involving the military in other aspects of law enforcement.
If the military needs to be involved, then a far better response would be to invade Mexico, and replace its governing institutions with something more congenial to US interests.
Just sticking troops on the border will not accomplish anything and sets a bad precedent.

Wait a minute. Guarding the border isn't a law enforcement function. It's primary national security, best performed by the military during a time of war. You have been on here cheering when militarized LEs killed a suspect in his house. When did you begin to worry about the military handling border security, anyway?
