TANCREDO, IMMIGRATION REFORM CAUCUS TO CALL FOR TROOPS ON BORDER
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) and other members of the House Immigration Reform Caucus will announce a new border security initiative at a press conference tomorrow. See the Immigration Reform Caucus release for more information.
Hell, this turned out to be a successful thread.
I was actually gonna wait for "The Solution - Part II" befor responding.
Rights go out the window under martial law.
Do you think that they don't realize that by securing the borders with tye military, it would mean every point of entry into the US?
Every mile of shoreline, every airport, every seaport, every train station, every bus station?
As to the new Cabinet Department, the need for the restructuring is clear. Be a nice bonus if we could staff it without any of the entrenched Clintonistas.
My problem with the welcome wagon isn't so much that it was part of the INS, but that its mission creeped from welcoming lawful immigrants to coddling Illegals. Wherever the wagon ends up, that has to stop.
Mexico may be YOUR enemy, but it isn't this country's enemy.
You create jobs in Mexico to a) end the need for them to come here looking for work, and b) get some low-priced consumer goods.
Win-win.
BTW, it isn't up to the US to create jobs anywhere, it would be up to the US CITIZENS who own the industries to do as they see fit with their businesses.
Excellent part of a realistic solution.
OUCH! There you go, telling the truth again.
I'm all for that. Cheap labor is a legitimate commodity, and I'd much rather utilize Mexico's to the benefit of our hemisphere, rather than continue to expand the industrial base of China's expansionist tyranny.
Your Pt. I was fine too. I noticed though, an oversight:
No provision for deportations.
I think it will but you are right, the "welcome wagon" has held sway over the enforcement arm and that has to stop. This integration of the enforcement functions into the HDD is a direct swipe at Zigler. I don't see a bright future for him as INS director. However; even if he stays, what is left of his agency can no longer block legitimate enforcement of our immigration laws.
Those that do not, and can make it here under those conditions will make fine Americans.
Let's see if I have it straight:
1. Non-answer.
2. Employers of Illegals are the cause of the problem.
3. Illegals are the effect.No?
Those that do not, and can make it here under those conditions will make fine Americans.
Your second sentence contradicts your first, in that you concede that they won't all leave.
Your second sentence also contradicts the law, in that Illegals can never make "fine Americans." They can never be Americans at all. In fact, they can never legally earn a dime, because you said in your Solution Pt. I that you would "Prosecute US employers that knowingly hire illegals."
Unless there's another aspect of your solution you haven't mentioned?
In addition, by letting Illegals stay at their own discretion, you never remove the biggest of all incentives for more to come here in violation of our laws...
Because they can and we let them.
Doesn't matter how good your other suggestions are: No deportations = no solution.
2. Employers of Illegals are the cause of the problem.
They are here for jobs. Americans hire them. Yes.
3. Illegals are the effect.
Job offered, job taken. Yes.
I in no way mean to imply these are the only causes and effect, by the way. You did call for brevity. ;)
Depends on what happens with bipartisan efforts on behalf of Section 245(i).
If that bit of Clinton Legacy gets extended again, the wagon may as well back up to the border.
