Regardless of the all the things John Gotti was or wasn't, he was still this woman's father, and now he's gone. Trust me, it's a wound that never completely closes.

We are obviously a minority here, but I agree with you. Gotti was a slimey murderer and a gangster, but to his daughter he was just daddy.
I can fully understand that she loved him, just as I loved my own father who is also gone.
