Your post 890 brought back many great memories. I lived in Petaluma (stationed at Two Rock Ranch Station close to Bodega Bay) for several years in the mid 60's. Our oldest son was born there . Beautiful country up and down the coast. Big Sur south and wine country north. Thanks for the memory jog.

October is a great time to visit. The only problem is that every good restaurant in the valley is booked up for months from September through the end of October, due to the grape harvest, wine crush and the incredible Indian Summer. Give a holler before you come down, I will direct you to some nice areas.

Glad to provide that jog to your memory....its just such a beautiful part of the country...I love it there, and as I said before, even if I had no family still down there, I would always go back and visit...I cant stay away from that part of the USA, its always calling me back...

Way to go! Bill, ya done good. Just today on my way to work I had a car drive up beside me with two smiling people inside who pointed at the back of my car and gave me two thumbs up!

I sure do appreciate that...I will certainly give a holler, if we get down that way this fall...

We had planned to go back last year, but my son was returning from his year long around the world trip, right at the time we had planned to go...and then our Mariners were in the playoffs, so we had to go to those games and cheer our Mariners on(Boo, they lost)...so we had to put our plans on hold...

But if all goes well, we will get down there this year....I will be sure to ping you, when our plans are for sure...thanks...
