Need help finding a free or very cheap web hosting service.

I have a question for all of the internet-savvy freepers out there. I have a number of "stations" on MP3.com that have had banners and other graphics added to them. These graphics used to be hosted on a web page that I had up. Since then I've turned off the web page, but I would still like to be able to post my graphics on MP3.com. I've checked out a few different "free" web page services but I can't find one that will allow me to have graphics that can be accessed by other web pages. I've only got about 500k of files to put up, not even half a meg of data. Does anyone out there know of a free or very cheap web hosting service that will allow me to do this, that is worth using?

I had the same problem w/sites denying "hotlink" ability--there are numerous sites that allow you to park your images, but only a couple which also allow you to hotlink them--e.g., msn.communities--you have to sign up for pasport-but it's all free--also Yahoo-e-mail--click on photos at bottom of page, also villagephotos.com.

Alright Freepers.  Click here for a trailer load of fun.  Only 21 days left for the early-bird rates.  See you in Vegas...

Here I am trying to find some way to be able to host my images, and you go and post a graphic like that on my poor thread. You are a cruel, cruel person. I don't suppose you know of a good, free web image hosting service? Maybe the one you are using for that great graphic?

I spend $39 a month for my service. That's not too bad, but it isn't free. You can probably find one for around $20 if you look around. My service is hosting.com. I have a moderate sized site so that I can expand if I like. Take a look at their home page.

Nothing is free. The downside of a "free" service is slow transfers, unreliable service, and limitations on remote linking to your files. What they really want you to do is host a web site on which they can insert their advertisements. Remote linking defeats their advertisements, so they frown on this sort of usage (read their terms of service). I use Pair Networks for my website and eBay image hosting. They offer a plan for $5.95 per month which gives you 100MB disk space and 100MB per day/3000MB per month bandwidth. I have found there service to be very reliable and their tech support is very good as well.

$39 a month is hardly cheap! A few months back there were a number of us that were having trouble with what had initially been free sites. After a lot of checking around and experimenting several of us that I know of ended up using the Fotki upgrade and it has been great. It is $30 a year. They have a free service but that does not allow you to link to outside pages. They also support more types of images....gifs, tifs, bmp, and others. Most only support jpg.

I realize that $39 isn't too cheap. But I have the capacity to deliver 1 gig per day, and I have a lot of storeage capicity. This isn't what a "normal" person would generally go for. But I wasn't aware you could find something worthwhile for less than $20 per month. Thanks for the tip.

200 meg storage, 16 gig bandwidth, and 100 pop3 accounts

for $7.77 a month

I have two accounts with them. For almost a year now. They are excellent, I have never had any down time, or needed their tech support. Also, if you refer others, you get a commision equivalent to two months free.
