ARRGHH - Velvet Elvis.
Never post Sunday Morn. before coffee.
I was unaware of some of this...........Luce was the Rupert Murdock or Ted Turner of his day (media mogul)................started the whole conglomerate called TIME Inc..............his style and philosophy of reporting has 'evolved' in to "THE MAINSTREAM LIBERAL MEDIA" ie. he didn't mean to accomplish this makeover according to the author.
Interesting caller at 9:20 AM (EST) who said (defensively) he was a registered Democrat (I tend to agree from his comments) who complained about todays media cabal!!!!!!! Hmmmmmmm.........
Another caller was definitely a conservative Freeper-type who said he no longer listened to the regular media and instead listed to Savage and Rush.
That's ok, never mind that. Here's the headline......
RUSSERT PRE-EMPTED BY BORING TENNIS
I'm there. You're right.
Will the media/DNC boiler rooms jam the lines today to defend bias in the press?
We'll see.
Just finished watching FoxNewsSunday and I need to know, were Tony Snow and Juan Williams wearing the same tie?
Except for a color variation, their ties looked identical.
It was driving me bonkers.
Obviously, not much substance in their roundtable this morning, not enough to keep my mind off those ties, LOL.
was Any Card on? any word about his comments in Esquire re: Karen Hughes and Rove? did he deny the statements?
So I didn't see what Card had to say.
MTP on a 6 a.m. MDT; to early to listen closely.
As a fiscal conservative, I am really concerned about both issues -- Homeland security and the very costly bloated bureaucracy that will arise from a new department, and the loss of constitutional freedoms for citizens when government agents get too much power and unlimited ability to snoop. 95%+ of the problem is NOT homegrown terrorist types, but middle aged middle-east men between the ages of 17 and 40. Get rid of the PC mindset and we well save both money and our freedoms!! (/ rant)
My question is why do any of these WH people give interviews to a press that love making them and the WH look bad? Hope Card learned a lesson from this. And I hope the President took him to the woodshed.
He tried to weasel out, but in essense he DID make the comments and stood by the general content of his thoughts. The man has to go!!!!! Hopefully Bush will tell him he does need to spend more time with his family.......away from D.C.
