Anthrax, Dr. Strangelove, and TV's Millennium
A Different Drummer ^ | 9 June 2002 | Nicholas Stix

Article shows how the notion that the anthrax killer was a "home-grown" terrorist was concocted and spread by Marxist professor Barabara Hatch Rosenberg, who stole her theory from a TV series.

Shadowy Millennium Bump!

Man that was a good show. I wish they'd put it out on DVD.

It was the best - and I really, really want to be able to buy it on DVD. Personal fave episode was the one where Lara was going insane in series 2. Best written show ever, and will be sadly missed.

That or a cable station re-runs it. Either way, I have to make some purchases -- we don't have cable or a VCR.

The Sci-Fi channel in the UK is re-running series 1 at the moment, they've only recently finished airing series 3 for the first time - none of the other UK networks would carry it. I can't wait for the re-runs of series 2, that was where the tru classic episodes were. That, or for Fox to make amends for cancelling it and release it on DVD! I'm not sure I'll ever forgive them for that - or not until some new Simpson's episodes arrive in the UK :-)

Definitely! Those were the best!

The ones with wierdness just on the fringes (The Curse of Frank Black) seem to be the ones that resonate the most with me.

I thought I had seen all the episodes, but I don't remember Lara Means, about whom I've recently read a bit. Either I missed some episodes, or my memory ain't what it used to be.

Lara's special talent was that she could see angels - and she was the one who gave her vaccine to Frank so he could use it on Jordan - see if that stirs your memory!

I really liked the fact that I never quite understood what was going on - I think they always left parts of the story up for viewer interpretation. Series 3, while having some excellent writing behind it, didn't have enough of the weird factor for me - and the series finale was a bit of a let down. It's a real shame they'll never make any more . . . .
