The defense vowed an immediate appeal.Yeah.
If this guy's last name had been Kennedy, like Uncle Teddy, he'd probably go free.

Any day that they throw a Kennedy in jail is a good day as far as I'm concerned. I know, I know, he's not REALLY a Kennedy. But he's as close as we're going to get in my lifetime.

Wow. From what I'd heard of the relative weakness of the prosecution's case, I really thought the creep was going to walk.
To: ppaul
I see he's got the fat gene too!
To: ppaul
Anybody! I'm wondering how much Mark Furman's book helped this verdict?

Martha Moxley was killed only seven years after Mary Jo Kopechne.
Call a talk show today - and demand justice for the family of Mary Jo Kopechne!
To: ppaul
Or, if he'd been Cute like some of the Kennedy's, he might have gone free.
But the way he looks, you just want to lock him up for something.

He'll be out on appeal and looking for 'the real killer' with OJ, Robert Blake, and the Menendez Brothers soon . . . coming to a theatre near you.

I posted this on the other skankel thread but I thought I'd post here as well:ok. If anyone here (and I doubt this will ever come into play) kills someone, here is some bits of advice I've learned from this case:
don't say your alibi is that you were masturbating outside the victim's window around the time of the murder.
Don't go to an author with information that will convict you while you are still a suspect.
Don't make several confessions. No matter how starstruck the local cops are, it will eventully catch up with you.
Don't be without remorse.
Don't depend on your family name to get you off.
If your family is a bunch of dumb rich inbreeds, don't even ask for their support. They will do you more harm than good. Oh yeah, being the black sheep that your family want to hide isn't good either.
Don't look like a big freaky pervo at the time of your trial. Jurors get skeeved out by that.
Again, Don't say you were masturbating outside the victim's window around the time of the murder. Not only do you put yourself at the murder scene, but it's just not what normal people do. Get a playboy and go home with it, it will keep you from being passed around in jail like a bottle of Jack Daniels at a biker party.

Now they need to try him for the witness he had killed (Oh sure, it was a drug overdose - probably of the "take these pills or I'll shoot you" variety.)
Odd how so many people who are about to take the stand against bad guys always commit suicide.

...a bottle of Jack Daniels at a biker party. Ugh.
What an image!

If this guy's last name had been Kennedy, like Uncle Teddy, he'd probably go free. I'm surprised he didn't use the "If you grew up with a name like Skakel you'd be a homicidal maniac too" defense.

sort of like how mob informants turn up dead?
To: ppaul
all i'm saying is that skankel should get used to the feeling of hands on his shoulders.
To: bloggerjohn
It was an overdose but, as I recall, the details were suspicious.

Good another Kennedy down.
Now let's re-try Teddy for murder...this time in TEXAS!
To: Maceman
This must be the first Kennedy ever to pay for what he has done. Too bad Uncle Teddy wasn't nailed for murdering Mary Jo. IMO it is time for the USA to shake loose from this rotten bunch.
