I was just thumbing through this thread and saw that picture of Mrs. Condit-- Yikes!
Have they found the rest of her remains yet?

Wonder if she is the mysterious blonde woman seen talking to Joyce Chiang, the intern of Condit's good friend Howard Berman, in the Starbucks around the corner from Gary's place the night Chiang disappeared. Wonder if the mysterious page she received that night from Dulles airport was actually from Gary. Wonder if Joyce had the same deal with Gary that Chandra did. So many questions...

I caught that interview too. He said, "No way an animal dragged that bone into a hole and brought it back out again. It was there the entire time."
The D.C. police are projecting the hole they have dug for themselves. I have really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this is waaaay over the top.

I saw that, and took it as primarily Greta grandstanding. That old granny's nylon sock is obviously not a clue, I doubt any young woman would be caught dead in such, and it was too short to use as a restraint.

What kind of police department are the D.C. police? Is this a joke? DC is not very well run. For example, the DMV stopped giving license plate stickers when you renew your registration. Now they give you a windshield sticker. The DC police see an expired sticker on the license plate and pull you over just to read the windshield. This takes a lot of manpower. Nobody left to solve murders.

Ah, I note the thumbless hands are hidden in that shot.

Come on now... they didn't find Chandra Levy's body for more than a year because they were busy looking for their patrol cars, which were parked next to Gore_ War_ Vet's truck. Once they found his truck they had to get the patrol cars roadworthy again, as they had been stripped for chop shop parts. And it was
while they were doing this that the turtle hunter stumbled upon the "well-hidden" remains of Chandra Levy, 2000' from Park Police Headquarters and just down a hill from Broadbranch Road.
(After this latest DC Cops thread, you'll be lucky if Chief Ramsey isn't hunting you down, Miss Taylor. ;-)

Actually the logical conclusion is that a whole lot of trash accumulates over time in a park frequented by numerous less than savory characters. Greta just found garbage one can find in pretty much any urban park, especially one so near ghetto areas. This is prime real estate for addicts, prostitutes, and random Rainbow Warriors.

"I think it has been there all along & the police in DC are just extra stupid or they are corrupt & they were paid off & told NOT to search too well."If that section of Rock Creek Park is anything like remote areas of Philadelphia parks, it's loaded with poison ivy. It's easy to see how a searcher might choose to avoid it. It also makes me wonder about the condom or theories about a tryst in the woods.

Regarding DC cops, during Marion "Crack Head" Barry's reign as mayor more than %50 of homicides in DC went unsolved. I hope that has improved some but I doubt it has greatly improved.

The scene will be re-secured. To keep anyone else from embarrassimg them again.

Are you implying this "find" by the PI's is a break in the case? I think not. Highly likely just an animal moving his bones around. The police my be bad but not that bad to miss the leg bone. Plus people and reporters have been all over that place and didn't see it. Sure there could be some consipracy theories that the killer returned the bone, but the logical conclusion is an animal moved it.

The turtle hunter didn't avoid the area because of poison ivy. Would condoms last out in the open for a year? If the killer used a condom wouldn't he be careful to take it with him? I don't see Chandra being lured to a tryst in the woods, she was a city girl, she didn't even jog outside. I think she was lured there but not with the promise of sex in the woods. He promised to give her what she wanted, a divorce from old thumbless, & marriage. Chandra would meet him anyplace to hear that.

I've thought the same a time or two. Although she and Gary could pass for siblings (especially if he wore a wig). Carolyn surely looks as thought something is killing her. Could it be a conscience?
To: ironman
The bone and the wire could very well be breaks.
They missed the whole body last year because their search parameters were too narrow. The bone was found well within an area they searched this year.
They knew they were missing the bone, but they just gave up trying to find it.
I mean, why bother? Towed trucks are easier found.

Would condoms last out in the open for a year?First of all it was not a condom that Greta and the ex-DC cop, Ted Williams, found it was a condom wrapper. But since they also found a latex glove out there, I suppose it would be possible for a latex condom to last, if it was a condom, but it wasn't.

Poor girl! Imagine getting yourself killed, and then on top of that missing a leg. Talk about bad luck!
