G'day,
Today in D.C. there was another one of those organized, bought and paid for, anti-capitalist, pro-socialist greenie protests at an Exxon gas station located at 2nd and Massachusetts Avenue (next to Union Station and down the street from the Heritage Foundation).
After spending nigh onto 40 minutes driving around for a parking spot, I snagged one and headed to the Exxon station. I had gotten word from Reagan Girl that the same people we faced in Dallas would also be here.
Promptly at 10 O'Clock, I noticed a large crowd carrying signs and marching back and forth at the corner of 2nd and Massachusetts. Upon getting a little closer, I saw signs that said "Capitalism Rules!" "SUV's need hugs too" "Stop Global Whining!" etc.
I knew then that I was in the right place.
When I got close to the group of people, I was greeted by Saddam Hussein and the Exxon Tiger. Mike Hardiman (of the American Land Rights Association, ALRA, www.landrights.org) was in the Tiger suit and Saddam was a fella that I had met in Dallas in his alter ego, a kangaroo.
Some guy drove by in a truck that had a sign on it that said, "11 miles a gallon. You got a problem with that?"
We chanted a number of loud slogans, and since we outnumbered the other side by more than 2 to 1, were pretty effective at it. Some of the chants were "Kiss my gas!" "Doesn't matter what you say, we're gonna drill anyway (wrt ANWR)!" "SUV, SUV, etc."
The other side tried some lame chants such as "Tundra, not plunda." and "The Caribou doesn't like them (us)." I responded by saying where is my Caribou Hamburger?
We utilized effective leftist methods against them as well. We pointed fingers at them and said, "Shame! Shame!" "Don't ban my van!" and generally had loads of fun. Besides, Our blondes were better looking than their blondes.
The U.S. PIRGies were really upset that we were there and that we also outnumbered them by more than 2 to 1. It is very nice to outnumber the far left!. We razzed them mercilessly about Nader all day.
I noticed that only 2 other FReepers had made it to the event, Reagan Girl, and Nick Danger.
I believe that young college republicans (sic?) brought out several people to the protest. I also saw R.J. Smith, of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, who i had met at Darby a couple of years ago, there. It was good to see the FReeping was not just the purview of the young. Many thanks to all who participated.

My only question is what are we going to do next week?
Bump for Capitolism!
Radical Left Hates America! 'Pod
Capitolism = CapitAlism....LOL
Still suffering from the extreme heat this morning.
Hee hee.
I hereby decree that "Capitolism" = activities in our nation's capitol, so you're okay.
ROFL -- Thanks for the "get out of spelling prison free" card.
Of course they are!
Who have the Leftists got to compare with Ann Coulter, for example?
