I must reluctantly disagree with you on this one (sort of).  IE probably runs better on Macs than it does on Wintel.  Given that, however, I'd have to agree that porting Mozilla to various platforms is harder because it runs on so many of them.

I'd say that IE runs equally well on both platforms (I use both Mac and Wintel), but you're right about one thing - considering the sheer number of platforms that Mozilla has been ported to (and in stable form, no less!), it's a pretty impressive product.
