U-TURN: BUSH ADMIN OUTLINES 'GLOBAL WARMING' EFFECTS ON AMERICA; ACKNOWLEDGES DAMAGE
Drudge Report ^ | 06/02/2002 | By Drudge

DAMAGE

In a stunning U-turn for the Bush administration, the United States has sent a climate report to the United Nations detailing "specific and far-reaching effects" that it says "global warming will inflict" on the American environment.

MORE

Also for the first time -- the White House places "most of the blame for recent global warming on human actions -- mainly the burning of fossil fuels that send heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere," the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Monday Page Ones, according to publishing sources.

Go read the ENTIRE report instead of focusing on the few insidious parts Drudge posted.

I liked his previous approach of acknowledging, but not being a scaremonger.

Seems to me that many of the posters here are the scaremongers, running around like Chicken Little screaming the political sky is falling.

I see nothing in this Drudge report to warrant that opinion, or to warrant your opinion implying that President Bush is going to come out tomorrow and tell us we have to build Global Warming shelters immediately or die.

Doesn't that make too much sense! (ha) It will be interesting to see if Rush falls for the Drudge story and goes haywire tomorrow ... he's on probation with me anyway.

Oh for Heaven's sakes! If Rush goes off on this without reading the entire article, he's truly gone off the deep end.

If Rush does, I will have to say he has his implant wound to tight, and too willing to sacrifice years of sound commentary over ratings against O'Reilly.

#219: "We do need to elect a Republican Senate in the fall, if that happens, I think we will see a sea-change (if you will pardon the environmental analogy)."

I felt your same enthusiasm in the fall of 1994 when the R's captured the House and Senate. Since then, it's been all downhill.

Dubya is merely the latest (and by far the worst) Republican 'conservative' disappointment. The R's have no chance at taking back the Senate, and even if they did, what does today's Republican party stand for?

The "Third Way" of American politics is nearly complete.

I'm really hoping he won't (go off). I sense a bit of drawing back from his recent hysteria. I always loved Rush sooo much; it took a lot for me to put him on probation, but there he is.

I'm getting awfully sick of swallowing all this liberalism and calling it 'conservatism'.

Yup!

Hmmm, let's see, first initiative was to stop the public funding of overseas abortions much to the dismay of the left wing, the feminazis and their media cheerleaders.....Bush also reinstated the so-called Mexico City policy, which linked anti-abortion policies and foreign aid.... pretty liberal, huh?

Despite finding no support from the leaders of the European Union, or our own liberals President Bush stood firm on his support for missile defense.... and his opposition of the Kyoto treaty.....Later, he scrapped the antiquated 1972 AMB treaty on ballistic missiles....over the shrieks from the left of another arms race..which of course never happened......sound like Al Gore to you?

He promised tax cuts during the campaign and stubbornly refused to give up in spite of vows from Daschle, Gepfart and leftists to defeat them.... He has stood firmly against human cloning...He appointed real conservatives to his cabinet, in the case of Ashcroft remained committed in the face of over 100 leftist groups lining up to defeat him...
Yet you can't tell if Al Gore or George Bush won?
Are you trying to make me laugh on purpose or what?

Me too, but the last few weeks he has sounded like a whining liberal. I just couldn't tolerate. He must find it hard to believe that W is not into favoritism, and he gives me the impression he truly trust no one in the media.

"If it is not a direct Bush administration report, I can accept it since it is not really coming from him."

Well yes and no. He may not agree with the report but the fact remains, it came out during his term. I'll wait and see what he has to say about it, before I give him a pass.

If he says its all based on junk science and everyone should feel free to ignore it, than I'll be smiling. Otherwise he is responsible, after all he's the boss.

I would believe just about anything about Bush, but this seems bogus. Of course I never expected the Pope to agree that evolution is most likely valid either.

If this is true, even though it may never effect Bush's policies on green house emissions, and the Kyoto Treaty, during his administration, it will sure give the Demoncrats fuel when they have the White House again.
