A man on a motorbike hurled a stick of dynamite at a Palestinian checkpoint Saturday, lightly wounding one man, officials said.
The attack occurred at 6.40am at a barrier manned by the Palestinian Armed Struggle group at one of the entrances to the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp near Sidon, officials said speaking on condition of anonymity.
Palestinian camp officials said that the assailant escaped on his motorbike after throwing the dynamite. The motive for the incident has yet to be determined, but the refugee camp has been a frequent scene of internecine fighting among Palestinians.
On Wednesday, an 18-year-old Palestinian was shot dead in the camp. The Palestinian Armed Struggle, which is linked to Palestinian President Yasser Arafats Fatah faction, is responsible for security inside the camp.
The casualty in Saturdays bombing, an unidentified member of the group, was taken to a hospital in the camp, the Palestinian officials said.
If people want on or off this list, please let me know.
They will add this death to the death toll in the Palestinian-Israeli violence, thereby making it seems as if Israel is to blame for it. When they say 1300 Palestinians and 500 Israelis, deaths like these are included in the Palestinian toll, even though Israel is not to blame for it.
If it were an Israeli who threw the dynamite, it would be a "massacre."
If a Pali hurls dynamite at another Pali, it's called "negotiations."
