Coming from Palm Beach, you don't expect much less, but Contact PalmBeachPost.com and let them know what you think of their political cartoonist anyway.

Besides, other papers are picking up and printing this garbage, including the editor of my local.

I don't suppose we'll ever see a cartoon of a donkey holding the "BUSH KNEW" edition of the NY Post and saying "What great campaign material!"....

It's sickening and reminds me of a recent post by a (former) freeper - a picture of the engulfed towers with President Bush laughing in the foreground. It's despicable - as is that "no current freeper by that name".

Coming from Palm Beach, you don't expect much less...

Actually, I was sort of surprised that it was a regular pen-and-ink drawing, just like a real cartoon. Coming from Palm Beach, I was more or less expecting it to be drawn in yellow crayon on a cocktail napkin...

My fan letter:

"Just when I thought Democrats had sunk as low as they possibly could and still claim membership in the human race, I'm proven wrong.

No tactic, no strategy, no accusation, no propaganda is so vile or outside the pale of basic decency that the party of Clinton won't pick it up and run with it.

Will we be seeing a Wright cartoon soon depicting ex-President Clinton hanging up the telephone on the Sudanese when they call to offer Osama bin Laden to the U. S. on a silver platter? Will we be seeing a Wright cartoon depicting Democrats wielding a huge pair of scissors and cutting the Intelligence budget to shreds?

As repulsive and sickening as this cartoon is, I'm actually glad you printed it. Anything that hastens the long overdue death of the Democratic party can only have a salutary effect on the U. S. Kind of like lancing a boil - unpleasant but necessary for the healing process to begin.

Please, take all the rope you need."

some time ago I had chanced upon a Palm Beach Post newspaper and while browsing through the Religion section I was horrified to read the articles I read!!

One article by a pair of Catholic priests (one being a Monsegiuor) DEFENDING Muslims as being righteous in their cause; I had to stop for a moment and look on the name of the paper again because I thought it may have been the Iraqi Times or Weekly Jihad from the middle-east.

The second article was by some critic who was literally tearing down Tim LaHaye end-times fiction prophecy books as "preying on the weak minded masses who huddle in the churches ".

Methinks that Florida is not far off from becoming a Kalifornia.

Here is what I sent them:

"Your cartoon of a Republican thinking that the plane about to crash into the Twin Towers would make great campaign material is , at the least, hogwash. Why don't you people run cartoons of dirty perveted Jews preying on innocent little German girls or stealing gold teeth from the corpses in funeral homes? That's about the level of your mentality."

That has got to be the most revolting cartoon I have ever seen.
Think about those poor souls who died that day, and this cartoonist
is making fun of their deaths.

Oh, lookie here! The Palm Beach Post has an advertisers section, with an e-mail button to send mail to all of their advertisers. It doesn't get much easier than this.

My standard e-mail will include a copy of the cartoon and a letter saying that I find the exploitation of this tragedy for such grossly partisan aims to be disgusting, and that I find any advertiser associated with such exploitation to be unworthy of my patronage.

I figure I can do about 100 an hour. How about you?

Everyone also keep in mind that the Palm Beach Post is owned by Cox Communications. They have other media properties across the country. Many of these resources can be found on the Cox site at: http://www.cox.com/Corp/Other%20Cox%20Sites.asp.
