EXTREME liberal BS in my classroom today!
Posted on 05/20/2002 8:39:12 PM PDT by Loc123
Today my teacher, a liberal whom I normally respect at least, tried to convince the class that Osama Bin Laden was remorseful and repentant for what he did--so he shouldn't get the death penalty and such.
We were talking about what is justice and what are its limits (IE should Germans who are today discovered to be Nazi's be tried for there crimes) and a student brought up the point that OBL would never be forgiven in the USA. My teacher then shot back that he is remorseful and cannot sleep and needs tranquilizers to sleep at night. I told him that this was because of the American military operations and he said that I was wrong. He claims that Al Jazeera (that's credible!) interviewed OBL's wife and was told this information.
But OMG is this not disgusting beyond belief!? Is there such an interview? I have never seen a posting on this esteemed site to confirm his claims.
I thought about totally demolishing this guy but didn't because I am currently running for student body president and my classmates are mostly liberal and mostly like this teacher.
Just to let you know what your tax dollars are being spent on: anti-american propaganda!

One of the liberals plans was to gain control of the education system in order to shape young minds to their way of seeing the world. Hillary Clinton was involved with this plan way back in the 70's with other Socialists.
You should not be surprised that teachers say these things, the brainwashing has been effective.
It is frightening to think about students be groomed in this mindset. What can the future hold when these minds that have been molded by these Socialists are the leaders of the nation?

It's not just students being brainwashed, it's the teachers graduating from college who are being fed the 'modern' way of teaching also. My SIL, a 2nd grade teacher, believes all this crap. She was taught liberalism/socialist methods in college, reinforced in her Master's program, it's reinforced at all their 'teacher conferences' led by the politically correct teacher's unions. It's been planned for years. Start with college and trickle it down. It's going to take a long time to fix the education system if it doesn't implode on itself first. (I really hope it does)

First of all, congratulations on being an independent thinking American.
OBL was seen on videotape laughing about the devastation he inflicted on us. So, whats with this so-called teacher?
Thirdly, I dont think it is considered a crime to have been a Nazi during WWI. Millions of Germans were. Thats not what the Nuremberg trials were about. Those trials were about war crimes. I believe German soldiers were forced to swear allegiance to the Nazi Party or be shot. Being in the German army in WWII is not analogous to being a criminal. It would be as if Çliñt¤ñ said as Commander in Chief that all military personnel would become Democrats or be shot. Lets just be glad things didnt get that out of hand here in America.
Back to the real dilemma; you may be running for student body president and dont want to alienate anyone, but more important than being president, you have to be genuine. If you think this teacher has is wrong (and he does), you have to speak your mind. You have to take the lumps and pay the price if you ever hope to be a leader of character.
I hope you win the election by standing up for what you truly believe rather than believing what you think will get you elected.
If you speak your mind with conviction, you just might be surprised at how many of your fellow students will admire your guts. Then again, you might go down in flames. But, at least youll know you fought a fight. You have to decide whats more important to you; being president. or being a man or woman of conviction.
To your own self be true.

". . . so he shouldn't get the death penalty and such."
This may be a non sequitir since he could very well be part of the geological landscape right now. In a few hundred years the geologists might dig him up so the evolutionists can call him the missing link between humans and monsters. We can only hope!

Also, it's become a visious circle, the kids were taught liberalism from the teachers who were taught liberalism in college who were taught liberalism when they were kids. It's been what, 2 generations now?

So even at your age, getting elected is more important than the truth. You will probably be a great politician someday, but a lousy person.

These liberal profs are out of touch with reality. Part of the reason that these "hipsters" are out of touch is because no one challenges them. They seek the personal approval and popularity of the youth they indoctrinate with touchy, feely, altruistic phoniness. Harbored in their ivory towered cocoon with those who are like-minded, they preach the gospel to those who must go out and function in the REAL world. These profs think they actually share the voice and feelings of the youth they indoctrinate, when deep down it probably isn't so. In the social environment of college, no student wants to be ostracized, so agreement or silence is the norm. It is the shallow, passionateless, and gutless going with the flow, that has silenced the right wing. No inroads will ever be made on the right side as long as the faceless, nameless, and voiceless continue in the status quo of silence. Anyway, you can bet that this unchallenged professor thinks she speaks for the youth of her class now, since everyone just let her drivel on. Ask her if she would like to speak to the firefighters of New York or the families of the victims about Mr. Bin Laden.

As I wrote, he claims to have seen some report from al Jazeera.
However, it is interesting that you all assume that my teacher was female. LOL ;)

Oh, I know, and I indeed did stand up and call him on it (see my post). However, I did not use my full passion and vocabulary because of the election. But now, since I lost it, I will surely unleash the dragon of truth whenever the occasion arises (as I did so many times in the past).

Of course I know that. What I neglected to mention (because it was out of context) is that I am the cheif editorialist for the school newspaper. My articles thus far (not their exact titles BTW): why science encourages religion, the peril of illegal immigration, leftist media bias, and recently why we should attack Iraq.
Plus, as I said in my original posting, I did rebute him--I only did not employ my fullest of vocabulary and passion. And given the situation I was in at the time, I think you can understand my reasoning.

True, but you must remember that I did speak up--just not to the point of devastating this man (which I probably should have anyways).

Usually he does this but I am quite good at reading his body and facial mechanics. Plus, I have no intention of "blacklisting" him; he is a friend of mine (however misguided he may be).

To: Loc123
Don't use the revenge angle as a defense. I am anti-death based on my emotions but the argument I cannot counter logically and with reason is the death penalty as deterent. Putting O'sama to death is an effective deterent for other terrorists as well as an absolute deterent of his future actions.
An added dimension here is that many muslims believe that his survival would mean that Allah is on their side.
With that said, if O'sama were to help us erradicate all other terrorists then I would consider it logical to trade such cooperation for his life.
