It was a warm 90 degrees this evening as the patriots gathered for our weekly counterprotes, facing off again against the pacifists, peaceniks, leftist, and America is Wrong crowd on Blackstone and Shaw Aves. Gee, it seems like only a few weeks ago that we were shivering. JustAmy, your hats are a blessing!
The response from the passing traffic as usual was supportive, however, at first light. I guess it was because traffic was really heavy. I think there was a FSU game.
The pacifists seemed to have experianced a technical glitch this evening. Their signs did not arrive until ten til 5! A FReeper always has their signs ready for action! We counted about 11, a very lakadaisical bunch they were this evening too. One man did come over to us and tried to pull the old "It's all about the oil" routine. But when confronted with the fact that we are not as dependant on imported oil as in the past, and besides, ANWR, if we could utilize this resource, would make all this very moot, he decided to head on back and join his crowd. Gee, I wonder how he got to the protest. I don't think he walked or rode a bike. On a sad note, our GWB cutout was stolen by some guy that was trying to blend in with us.
