Just a couple of observations:

Most were introduced to Islam, and Islamic history and teaching, by friends.

Friends don't let friends practice Islam

And, given that Islam is not generally a missionary faith, these were gentle introductions.

Is the author on crack? Islam spreads like a plague precisely because it wants as many converts as it can have, preferrably by the sword, though "gentle introductions" is enough for feeble-minded leftist flower kids who want to become Jihad Johnnies.

Disgusted but not surprised. I really prefer a nice Jewish or Christian man who won't drag me to his scummy third world country at the first possible moment and beat the snot out of me just 'cause it's Wednesday (or any other day/hour) but what do I know? It's trendy now but Lenin's phrase seems appropriate here: "Useful Idiots."

I grew up with a couple of guys who were my older brother's good friends. These fellows had an older sister and a father who is a Lutheran minister.

She converted to Islam, and would hide every time the doorbell rang, because she could not let a strange man (even a 16 year old) see her.

Anyone with a UK passport, including UK based fanatical Muslims, can enter the US with very little hassle. Since the UK is on our list of friendly nations.

Our borders are wide open. And these kooks are already here in great numbers. And in their Mosques they plan to turn this country into a Muslim state. And stopping them is likely to get nasty.

...if there is an endemic suspicion of stuffy organised religion among the British...there is great interest in 'spirituality', whatever that might mean.

That's the problem. Anglicanism in the UK has become so "stuffy" and fusty, but without spiritual substance, that it has left a BIG SPIRITUAL VACCUUM!!! We Yanks can't be complacent, either-- there was a poll last year that shows how ignaorant and lacking in basic elements of the Christian faith most members of mainline Protestant and Catholic denominations are.

The along comes islam, with BIG LIE number 263: islam is the "rational, modern faith"--no "complicated theology" like the Trinity, no heirarchy, "total, simple monotheism." Of course, the islamic allergy to democracy, the fact that it drags its adherents (and those whom it has subjugated) into a new Dark Age, and its goal of world conquest by any means possible are all hidden behind Big Lie 263. And they have thousands of other Big Lies to snag other audiences!!!! (For example, Big Lie number 486, especially for African-Americans: islam is the black person's religion, Christianity is the white person's religion.)

If people want a (slightly) exotic, non-stuffy, growing, spirtually substantial, and lively relgious faith, they can become Orthodox Christians, as many in the UK (and the US) have done. If they want to shock their peers and parents just as much as becoming muslim does, but do some good in the world, they can join a Serbian Othodox church!!!!

The Orthodox don't kill you if you leave, they don't make women hide under clothing that looks like a tent, and they're not trying to conquer the world by force and subterfuge. And if a nominal, non-practicing Anglican becomes a real, practicing Orthodox Christian, he or she enters right into the heart of God!

This alone says volumes - airhead comes to mind. No where in this little expose does it say she actually read the Koran. It just feels good. I can say the same about most Christians. The difference being that once you accept Islam the penalty for denouncing that faith is death. Where as once you believe in Christ you are forever saved. Islam is about no choice versus Christianity which is all about choice.
