Lay off France, Chirac tells Israeli PM Sharon
Reuters ^

PARIS, May 11 (Reuters) - French President Jacques Chirac warned Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Saturday of repercussions if Israel continued what Chirac called an "anti-French campaign" maligning France as anti-Semitic.

"The president objected strongly to the anti-French campaign currently being waged in Israel in an attempt to present France as an anti-Semitic country," spokeswoman Catherine Colonna said after Chirac telephoned Sharon.

"This campaign is unacceptable and cannot continue without repercussions," Chirac told Sharon, according to Colonna.

Chirac, re-elected in a landslide victory over extreme-right National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen last Sunday, phoned both Sharon and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat on Saturday.

He told Sharon that an anti-French campaign was being waged in Israel "at a time when the French people have massively demonstrated their rejection of racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism", Colonna said.

France, home to a 600,000-strong Jewish community which is the largest in Europe, as well as around five million people of North African Arab origin, has had tense relations with Israel, which regards France as pro-Arab.

Relations between the two countries were strained further by France's growing criticisms of the policies of Sharon, who in turn was reported to have talked in recent months of "a dangerous wave of anti-Semitism" in France.

Last month, French Jews were subjected to vandalism at a Jewish cemeteries, arson attacks at synagogues and other institutions, and beatings, following Israel's military offensive in the West Bank.

Sacre fromage bleu !

Picture what was once the Cathedral of Notre Dame-transformed into the Shul of Yiddishe Momma ; the Knessett debating endlessly in le Palace de Versailles;the Algerian fanatics wandering around with guns and bombs-trying to drive out the invaders...

Chirac rewriting history in front of millions of people. Much anti-semitism is coming from France and the coward knows it.

Notice the utter megalomania of Chirac's threats. The attacks on Jews are not coming from Le Pen voters. They are coming from the North African immigrants whom the French welfare system lets lie about all day and stew in hatred. But the French political establishment has blamed all the racism and antisemitism in France on Le Pen and his followers, and whipped up these bizarre mass protests against a guy they all knew was going to get shellacked in the election. The whole point of this, in my opinion, was to assert its own innocence even as they continue to be willfully blind to Arab violence against Jews.

Now Chirac draws the moral. He has denied steadfastly all along that there is any antisemitism in France, and now, in his eyes, the election proved it. France has proven its innocence, proven that the attacks on Jews don't add up to anything, by voting for him! He, Jacques Chirac, the tribune of the People, is in his own person the proof that there is no antisemitism in France - just as De Gaulle was the living proof that no Frenchman really collaborated with the Nazis.

Providing the French nation with a rationale for avoiding self-examination and creating the illusion of grandeur for a second-rate power with an increasingly insular cultural life is, after all, what Gaullism has always been all about.

Ask Sharon and the vaunted IDF what they care of a "shitty little country" of cheese eating, surrender monkeys threatening 'serious repercussions' for pointing out the obvious.

Jaques.....do a DNA test with momma and papa and see if papa was really a strapping SS officer who frequented mama's bordello.

Q: Why don't they have fireworks at Euro Disney?
A: Because every time they shoot them off, the French try to surrender.

When I was done laughing, I looked Disneyland Park

I don't see them. Truth in humor?

Most of the Algerians are indeed French citizens. Is has to do with Algeria having once been a French colony, which lead to a bloody war in the early 1960s. Many Algerians then started to move to France, but they have never really integrated into the French culture, although they do say the Algerian girls tend to do very well in school and are well-behaved unlike the young Algerian men.

The boys tend to be tough and aggressive and pick on French and Jewish kids.

Thanks for your reply; I appreciate the benefit of your knowledge.

My point was that if these folks are French citizens, then France does have a problem of anti-semitism, contrary to Chirac's outburst.
