It's Official: The Limbaugh Doctrine
The Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | 8 May 2002 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 05/09/2002 9:26:19 AM PDT by COBOL2Java

Among my many achievements, I'm the author of what now has officially been dubbed "the Limbaugh Doctrine." This doctrine - that you get peace through victory, not negotiations, clean water and pieces of paper - was too hot to handle when I first wrote it as an essay.

Yet in the months since I published my thoughts on Pearl Harbor Day 2001, pundits and politicians have admitted what I so wisely articulated. We have linked to many of these articles and sound bites at the bottom of this page. On Tuesday night, the Limbaugh Doctrine was invoked by no less than Ariel Sharon - this prior to his leaving the United States for Israel after the latest in a very predictable series of homicide bombings.

Read the rest of Rush's article here.

misguided conservatives who once upon a time supported an apartheid state in South Africa.

Not that apartheid is okay, but.... just how much better off do you think South Africa is now? The media has imposed a black out on the horrible crimes committed there DAILY. AIDS is on the increase, and there are regularly rapes of girls as young as 2! Violent crimes of all types have increased drastically.

Yes bad stuff happened under apartheid, but for the average person, black or white, South Africa is a much worse place to live now than 10 years ago.

Oh and I think you mispelled your screen name, isn't it really liberALanarchist and not libertrianarchist?

The fact is, GWB is a good man. A man who is conservative

Please list one conservative achievment of George Bush. The temporary and tiny tax cut doesn't count...it expires in 10 years and amounts to next to nothing anyway.

For all you who act like only principle matters, grow up. Their is nothing (NOTHING) of value in losing on principle

Geez...you are unbelievable! There is nothing of value in winning either if when you win you abandon the princilpes you espoused during your campaign and then enact your opponent's agenda.

RE:Some people just don't see Rush's tongue because his cheek is in the way.

Rush always said,” Give him six weeks to catch the flow and humor of his show."

Knee-jerk blowhards are instantly appalled at someone confident in their beliefs. So fornicate them and the horse they rode in on :) if they don’t get the humor.

He kicked Afghanistan's a$$ after 9-11. An entirely new government is about to be installed. Many others are on the clock.

What have you done since then other than bitch?

I think I heard Rush apply the full logic of his "doctrine" today when he compared it to the use of nukes against Japan. I've been waiting for that one. I've heard the comparison before, but never so closely tied to his Isreal rants.

Ok. Kill 'em all. Then there can be peace.

The problem with the "Limbaugh Doctrine" is that there is no such thing as "victory" for the Isrealis outside of the extermination of its enemy's populations. Do we really want to go there, Rush? You proposed it, now drink your own brew. Nobody else will, including the Isrealis.

More importantly, as far as the U.S. cares about Isreal all of its enemies are not all our enemies.

Isreal has done everything it can short of a Hiroshima-type "final solution" (heh, he started the WWII metaphors). The reason it has not gone further is that it cannot. Total war against the Palestinians means total war against the Arabs. I don't see Isreal wanting that, which is why Isreali has not gone further than it already has, U.S. and/or international pressure not withstanding.

Limbaugh is in love with a theory. Sorry, babe, tastes good, but it don't rinse.

It's called hypocrisy. I'm dissapointed that he's taken the easy route.

How would YOU define victory? Maybe spelling Israelis correctly could be a start - eh?

How would you define victory here?

I've heard Limbaugh go on and on about "total victory" yet not until today have I heard any intimation about what that constitutes. No one -- NO ONE has yet to define "victory" in this situation other than irradication of terrorism.

Try and define that one, and you end up making comparisons to Hiroshima, I guess.

P.S. Don't bother with spelling corrections at FR; it's an ugly, endless, pathetic end.

You seem to be having a problem with that. What is YOUR solution?

If I so seem to have a problem with it why ask my opinion?
I am not here to give a solution. I am criticizing Limbaugh's solution. He's wrong.

He's wrong -- and I'll repeat it for the blind around here: BECAUSE THE ULTIMATE CONCLUSION OF HIS THEORY IS UNNACCEPTABLE. It is unnacceptable to the U.S. and it is unnacceptable to the Isrealis (or however you wish to spell it).

But I don't care about them, and I don't care about the Palis. I care about my country. Limbaugh's "Total victory" - that even the Isrealis won't attempt -- is not in the U.S. interest.

Watch for some backtracking from noon to three, your local radio station. A Nicollo "I told you so" coming soon.

Yet you don't point out why. Stop your rants and explain your position. Are you with us or are with the terrorists?
