Well, its all well and good he's running here;it's a free country. But seems like the arab countries could use his electoral platform more than us.

I can't put my finger on what it is, but I just don't trust these men with women's rights issues long term. How long before they're calling for the wearing of the Burqa or Chador and implementation of Sharia?

Perhaps, but he's a US citizen and therefore one of us, not one of them.
The incumbent is Marge Roukema. Isn't she somewhat of a RINO?
One of the other Arabs in Congress is Dan Issa, a Republican from California (and a target of an alleged bomb plot by Irv Rubin of the JDL). Arabs and non-black Moslems seem to lean strongly Republican, we're idiots if we excoriate them for what wacko radical terrorists or nations do.

Leveraging technology to develop more effective means of surveillance, detection and intelligence gathering to prevent future attacks before they happen is critical.
Sounds like he'll be voting for National ID...
To: swarthyguy
Can he really take his oath of office and mean it? And what about separation of his church and our state?

I see nothing in this article mentioning his position on Islamic terrorists that attacked America and the war on terrorism. What he doesn't say speak volumes.

I wonder if this is the mysterious Muslim Guy Ann Coulter was dating???
To: E Rocc
They might vote Republican, but how long before they make women wear that awful black sheet thing? People love to condemn the 'right wing Christian fundies' for their conservative beliefs regarding women but say *nothing* about the Muslim beliefs regarding women (which are even MORE extreme than any Christian fundie could imagine). Remember children, there has been no 'enlightened schism' in Islam as of yet.

You make the assumption that there is a big difference between the radicals and the 'moderates'. I did too, but no more. The only difference is means, not the goals - Worldwide islamic state.

I do not feel it is very smart to believe the 'moderates' any more. Who can say what the true agenda is.
To: swarthyguy
Exactly so. This guy needs to read that article about how they want to elect a Muslim president. If that ever happens I'll just move. These people have a pi@@ poor record with regard to womens rights.

"must serve to open our eyes to the fact that there are organized interest groups around the world who have both the intent AND the capability to harm our interests." =
Exactly what i mean by weasel words!

"Can he really take his oath of office and mean it?That's a good question. IMHO there is something in Islam that is contrary to the Constitution and cannot be reconciled.

Technically that would violate his obigations as a muslim.

Yosri is running in a district where 91% of the constituents are affluent white AmericansAnd predominantly Democrat.
Unfortunately I'm so ignorant and racist I'll never believe or trust a Muslim, regardless of what they say. As far as I'm concerned they are all active or passive members of the fifth column.

Exactly - the line 'we are just like Republicans' is the Trojan Horse. They have used that logic successfully thorughout the 90's ( Witness Grover Nyquist and his GOP islam Group). Agreeing on a very superfical level with conservatives' criticisms of US society is a simple way to gain favor. What they do not have is an understanding of the western concept of seperation of church and state and especially women's rights.

"make the cost of higher education tax-deductible and to extend health coverage for women - as well as to reform Medicare so that senior citizens would have their prescription costs covered. "Sounds like a Democrat. Although its hard to tell the Republicans from the Democrats these days with touchy feely "W" in office
