This isn't so crazy, libertarianism is the greatest threat to the "environmentalist" movement.

And still they don't give us the guy's name.

What do you know about Harderwijk, knighthawk?

However, a motive for the assassination was not given.

The motive is obvious: The guy wanted Fortuyn to turn into an animal, and when he refused, he shot him, because humans aren't as good as Animals.

Everyone knows that.

Der Spiegel story says much the same things about the perp. Also says the Dutch election is not being postponed.

Well, Fortuyn threatened Holland's image of tolerance. And if there's one thing the left can't tolerate, it's intolerance. Better to put him down than be seen as intolerant. < /sarcasm>< /irony>

It looks to me as if Europe is going berserk again. Just as it did in 1914 and 1939, and a dozen times before that. The crisis looming over them is extremely serious--nothing less than the prospect of Muslim outsiders taking over the continent as they outbreed the native Europeans and become the new majority. And the socialist politicians in charge are pretending that there's nothing to talk about, so ordinary people have no legitimate outlet to express themselves.

Since environmentalism is a religion, does this mean that Fortuyn was killed by a religious fundamentalist?

Predictably, CNN International is referring to the killer simply as "a 32 year-old male." No mention of leftist, environmentalist, etc. I'll skip the obligatory "Can you imagine if..."

In my book, Environmentalist Extremists are just as or perhaps more dangerous than Islamic Fundamentalists. At least the Islamists want you to convert to their religion or face the sword- the enviro whackos don't even value human life over that of an owl say, or a particular species of slug. In order to respect human rights, first you have to respect human life. The enviros do not respect human life or humanity's right to exist and prosper. Once you become a true believer in something like that- murder is not hard to justify.

The suspect fired five shots with a pistol, two of which struck Fortuyn in the back, two in the neck and one in the head, the prosecutor said.

5 for 5, eh? Pretty good shooting for an envirowacko. Maybe he was trained?
