Ex-con arrested at rock festival wearing stolen orange prison uniform

Florida police have arrested an ex-convict at a rock festival wearing a stolen bright orange prison uniform.

The 25-year-old from Lakeland allegedly stole the uniform when he was released in January.

Pasco County officers say he should have been at home under a curfew when they arrested him at the Livestock festival.

Sheriff's detective Mark Morrison became suspicions when he saw: 'Polk County Jail' written on the man's shirt and trousers.

The suspect told officers he was in a Halloween costume. He's been arrested for violating his parole.

"He stood out in the crowd," sheriff's spokesman Jon Powers told the St Petersburg Times.

He says he can't understand why the man wore the jail uniform at an event that was swarming with police.

"If you're violating your probation," he said, "the last thing you want to do is draw attention to yourself."

He's being held at Polk County jail. His previous charges include drug possession and driving while banned.

Another Darwin Award winner!!

I didn't know how to classify this, there is no 'Idiot' or 'Moron' classification. Maybe there should be.

What was that Jeff Foxworthy song about a 'Stupid' sign?

To be 'honored' with the Darwin award, a person has to die as a result of his stupidity. This one might qualify for the Marlin Perkins Bag & Tag Award for 'natural selection through capture,' since Marlin (via his trusty assistant) was notorious for nabbing wild critters with a noose on the end of a long pole, or with tranquilizer darts, and tagging them.

The captured guy was probably a Goron 'chad impregnator' left over from election day.

Better be careful when you wear that orange jumpsuit of yours. We might need to come bail you out of jail.

I think you need to review the rules. One needn't die, only remove oneself from the gene pool. Activities resulting in sterilization receive full marks. Incarceration doesn't qualify, though it certainly limits opportunities for procreation at least temporially.

And considering the selection criteria of some of the more fertile women out there, he's probably already created a few copies of himself.

oh, brother, this guy definitely deserves the 15 minutes of fame to which everyone is entitled in life, lol. I am trying to recall the name of that night-time television program, with the fellow who narrates it, whose voice itself cracks me up, that videotapes the mental incompetents of our society who get nabbed by the cops because of their sheer idiocy.

p.s. have you been following the threads regarding our illustrious state legislature's most recent thievery of our personal income? living here is like living in a communist country. think if i moved to another state it would feel like moving to another country, and without needing a passport. tempting, very tempting.

Maybe he thought he'd be 'fresh' with the 'prison threads'. You know, to help strengthen his 'gangsta' look.

Why would anybody steal a prison uniform and wear it?

Undoubtedly the latest fashion statement in the new generation's endless insanity....

You must not be paying attention. We all live in Massachusetts now. Bush may not be much, but at least he's not Gore. Massachusetts isn't all that different from North Carolina these days. Chapel Hill could be Beacon Hill for the all difference between them. (At least in South Carolina quite a few people still sport the Stars and Bars.) New Hampshire has a Democratic Governor and they're going to get an income tax. At least in MA the counter revolution is been waged for the last 20 years, led by Howie Carr and Barbara Anderson.

Individuals in the several states and the world over for that matter aren't all that different, it all depends on the institutions, habits and expectations of the people. Speaking of instititions, in America we have a free press and its pathetically lame. The worst thing about the press isn't its bias, it's its incredible intellectual sterility and conformity. BTW, Canada trumps Massachusetts for polical correctness and goody-two-shoeism of every stripe, but the Globe and Mail is far more stimulating and vibrant than any American newspaper.
