ABC television plans to observe the first anniversary of Sept. 11 by giving its airwaves over to daylong news on the aftermath of last year's suicide hijacking attacks and memorial events around the world, the network said April 30, 2002. It will mark the longest stretch of non-stop news on any of the major networks since the Big Four broadcasters suspended regular programs to air four straight days of commercial-free, round-the-clock coverage of the worst attacks on U.S. soil. Trade Center tower two is seen collapsing as tower one continues to burn in this September 11 file photo.

Every time I see these photos, I am reminded of the horror.
Why did Yahoo decide to carry this article under "entertainment" news?

Because it deals with ABC television...I suppose

Good. Never forget. I hope they pull no punches on the horror of that day and afterwards, i.e. burn victims before and after, the funerals, the now single parent families...

I wonder if Peter Jennings will again put the main focus of his coverage on the question of why Bush didn't fly directly to Washington that day. "Some Presidents handle these situations well and some don't" said the 8 million dollar a year jackass as thousands burned.

How do they know ABC headquarters won't get destroyed by terrorists on Sept 10, for example.

Good for ABC. I hope all the networks follow suit to remind Americans that terrorism cannot stand and our fight is the "good" fight.

It'll probably be half pro-terrorist.

Did they do all day commemorations on December 7, 1946?
Somehow I doubt it.

No kidding. I wonder if NBC will follow suit and have Tim Russert relive his words "Where are you now, Mr. President?" as thousands burned.

NEVER forget
Hopefully this will counter the BS "we're on your side" Ad campaign sponsored by the Saudis, heard on radio and tv recently.

1942. Of course. Early. Brain no work full speed.
Point same.

I hope that part of the revenue they generate from the observance will be directed towards the families who lost loved ones. But, my guess is that they won't do anything of the sort. Pardon me for saying this, but I think they are doing this for money, plain and simple. I'd rather GWB declare Sept. 11th a day of reflection, and we volunteer at fire stations, police stations, hospitals, etc.

Re#8 I understand your cynicism. I think that, to the extent it is possible, they will tour 'Rat "leadership" in those times. How, I don't know...

Amen!

HALF? No, no....to be politically correct and revisionist, there will need to be 5 pro-terrorist/anti-American types for every 1 real American.

I'd rather GWB declare Sept. 11th a day of reflection, and we volunteer at fire stations, police stations, hospitals, etc. A much better idea.
Yet, at the same time...what did we do on Dec 7, 1942?
Did we look backwards in a self absorbed way?
To: ppaul
I'm not optimistic that this will be anything other than anti-American, anti-Israel, and pro-terrorist revisionist stuff. It is, after all, ABC. ABC = Always Biased Commies.
