The bad news: I have a mere Meade ETX70-AT. Donations will be accepted for a much larger telescope. I already have the adapter for my digital camera and promise to post the pictures for those who donate. It has got to be cheaper and a lot more fun to have me take these pictures.

I wonder how fine the resolution of the "new" Hubbell scope's camera would be if focused on terrestrial objects?

I was thinking it was more like a Hillary hemorrhoid.

Why couldn't they get clear pictures of Cydonia?

Why couldn't they get clear pictures of Cydonia?

Last time I was visiting Cydonia, the weather was horrible. I doubt any cameras would be able to see through the CO2 clouds above the dust storms.

As I looked at the pictures, all I could think of was that God is busy - all over the universe!

Here's a link to a high-res version of one of the pics... not for the weak of bandwidth! It's 2+MB.

It's a great image though especially when you look at the smudges all over the background and realize that every single one of them is a galaxy.

I also have a Meade ETX70-AT and no time to use it.

Actually, this one's a pretty good deal (I'm still a couple of bucks short):

Looking at these pictures just brings to minds the following verses:

Job 38:31 "Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, Or loose the cords of Orion? 38:32 "Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites? 38:33 "Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fix their rule over the earth?

Psalm 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. 8:3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 8:4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?
