Washington – Ziyad Halil is living proof of the connection between the Hamas and Al-Qaeda. This is one of the proofs shown below in order to present the organizational, financial and operational cooperation between the Al-Qaeda, the Palestinian terrorist organizations and the Hizbollah. This is stark evidence showing the continuing helplessness of the US and the shallowness in Israel’s information campaign.
Whoever wants to explain to the American public about the direct links between the Al-Qaeda, the Palestinian terrorist organizations, and the Hizbollah doesn’t have to go too far. Proof of this can be found in the non-classified documents of Israeli military courts as well as in the federal court in NY, where the trial is taking place of the blind Sheikh Abdul Rahman and Ahmed Yousef, who were among those behind the first bombing attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. Six people were killed and a 1,000 were injured in that first attack. Later, another trial was held against Usama bin Ladin, who was indicted for the attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, which claimed 200 lives and injured 4,000.
Halil, a Palestinian-Jordanian with US citizenship, was arrested in Jordan on December 29th, 1999, after state security services uncovered a plot to carry out attacks during the millennium celebrations in the US and Jordan.
He is a member of Hamas, and until his arrest, he was the creator and website master of the official Hamas Internet website: www.palestine-info.net based in Orlando, Florida, where he lives. He also operates the site of the “Palestine Times”, the Hamas Internet monthly, as well as the “Muslim World Library”, a group based in London zealously defending the Hamas. He used to lecture in American universities on behalf of the “Islamic Association for Palestine” of the Hamas.
But Ziyad Halil is also an agent of Usama bin Ladin. He is the man who purchased computers and satellite communication cell-phones, as well as electronic surveillance equipment for the Al-Qaeda leadership. He is the one who personally traveled to Afghanistan to deliver to bin Ladin his famous satellite communications cell-phone, with which he used to rule the world and give instructions to blow up the US embassies in East Africa.
After his arrest in Jordan, Ziyad Halil was released and returned to the US. Today, he moves about freely and operates the Hamas Internet site without hindrance. By the way, he is not the only one linked to Bin Ladin and to the Palestinian terrorist organizations, and he continues to move about freely in the US.
A Letter From a TV Network
There is another terrorist connected to a Palestinian terrorist organization and bin Ladin who lives in North Carolina, near the capital, Washington, D.C., and the Pentagon that was attacked on September 11th, 2001. His name is Tarik Hamdi. He also is moving about freely and is a living example of the plan to obfuscate the distinctions between the Palestinian terrorist organizations and Al-Qaeda.
Hamdi is an Iraqi immigrant who studied at Tampa University in Florida, toward the end of the 1980’s and the early 1990’s. In an interview with the “St.Petersburg Times”, in Tampa, during the Gulf War, he admitted he had a deep commitment to “Arab and Palestinian issues.”
From the beginning of the 1990’s, he was connected to a group in Tampa, which created the headquarters of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the US. There were figures there such as Sami Al-Arian, and Ramadan Shallah. When the leader of the movement, Fathi Shkaki was assassinated in Malta, on October 26th, 1995, it was Shallah who flew to Damascus to take over.
For years, the FBI has been investigating the activities of the Islamic Jihad in Tampa and the collection of funds at mosques, as it were, for charitable purposes. Partners to these activities were Hamdi and his wife, and Wafa Huzain. When the FBI investigation “began to warm up”, the couple moved to North Virginia in 1994 and continued their activities for the Hamas, but at the same time, Hamdi became active on behalf of Usama bin Ladin.
His involvement was revealed in a classified document that was just recently declassified during the trial of bin Ladin in NY regarding his role in the blowing up of the US embassies in East Africa. On March 20, 2001, the prosecutor called to the stand witnesses such as Marilyn Morelli, an salesperson who testified about the sale of a satellite phone to Ziyad Halil, for use by bin Ladin. The purchase took place on May 11th, 1998, a few months before the attacks in East Africa. True, Ziyad purchased the equipment, but he mailed the equipment to the address of Tarik Hamdi in the town of Herndon, Virginia, and it was the latter that made sure to it that the cellular apparatus made it to bin Ladin.
In this trial, Hamdi’s name is mentioned also regarding a letter from the ABC Television network on May 13th, 1998. The letter asking to interview bin Ladin, was sent through Hamdi to Muhammad Atef, bin Ladin’s senior military assistant, also related by marriage through his daughter to arch-terrorist’s son. Atef was the most high-ranking Al-Qaeda member to be killed in the American bombings in Afghanistan after the attacks of 9/11.
The connection of ABC with Atef was revealed by the letter to have been “through Tarik Hamdi in Washington.” The interview finally did take place in May 1998. And who was it that flew with John Miller and the TV crew to Afghanistan to interview bin Ladin? You’ve got it, Tarik Hamdi, who took advantage of the opportunity to bring a spare cellular battery with him for bin Ladin.
