Will you go see StarWars Episode II: Attack of Clones when it is released May 16th?

How do you feel it will measure up to the original trilogy? What did you think of the Phantom Menace? Do you think this film will be better/worse than Phantom Menace?

No, Lucas has debunked the "post-trilogy trilogy" rumors that have been going around for years. Maybe when the torch is passed on to other filmmakers (yeah, right) it will happen (like bringing the Zahn trilogy to the screen), but not on Lucas' watch.

Judging from the Spiderman previews, I have a pretty good idea of which comicbook storyline they are basing the movie on. I wonder if they got the guts to state true with that storyline.

You can buy them now on eBay. They have been released in Hong Kong or other asian markets on DVD already just not domestically. Punch in....star wars DVD on eBay search and something should pop up. Not cheap but they are out there.

Yeah... I don't see Lucas making post-ROTJ movies, but I do foresee, after Start Wars Part 6 Episode III, a franchising out of movie rights based on the novels... but I doubt Lucas will be involved...

I had heard somewhere (Long Ago and Far, Far Away) that Lucas was originally planning a NINE-part "Star Wars" story.

That's correct. It was envisioned as a trilogy of trilogies. "New Hope" thru "return of the Jedi" were supposed to be the middle trilogy, then back in time for the "prequel" trilogy covering how Anatin became Darth, then a final trilogy covering what happens after "Return of the Jedi"

I doubt Lukas will get around to the last trilogy

I have *ahem* perused the script, and I think what he's going to do to Jar-Jar is brilliant, and I think a lot of people will see Episode I in a new light. EP2 makes it necessary for a Jar-Jar like character, trust me, you'll see. Jar-Jar will be hated.

Episode 2 will be everything 1 wasn't.

I'm very very enthused. A lot of people are going to be upset at how dark 2 starts to get, but hey, we all know the outcome of 3, so it's to be expected.

I will wait until it is released on video to see it; too many rude people, cell phones, infants, etc. in theaters to make the theater experience enjoyable anymore.

I was thinking the other day about what was so wrong with TPM; the kid. From what I could see, he didn't have such a bad life as a slave. He looked well fed, clean, healthy, had a nice home, etc. I think it would have been more in keeping with the theme of Star Wars for Anakin to have had a harsh life and start early out being someone who is tempted by the Dark Side. As for Jar Jar; I don't really like plots that involve a bumbling character whose bumbling makes things somehow work out in the end. Now, if they had shown him growing and becoming more confident, that might have been better. And Amidala should have been the daughter of actual royalty (which, I guess, is too politically incorrect). What kind of planet elects a 16 year old girl as their leader?! Not to mention that she is 10 years older than Anakin.

And, for Pete's Sake, why did they kill Darth Maul off so soon?!!

I'm curious, since you're a SW fan, have you tried the "Jedi Knight" games? There's a new one out called "Outcast". I really think these games, given the right "tweaks" give you the right feeling as to just how powerful and dangerous Jedi's truly can be.

This particular game has so-called "cheats" which don't allow you to actually cheat, but unlock some of the more "graphic" action that occurs when using something as incredibly dangerous and destructive as a light-saber.

Here's a site with a review, I have directed the link to the "hints/cheats" label. There is also a thorough review including players reviews which are far more worthwhile to read.

The thing is, once you activate these codes, the light-saber became more than just a pretty toy. It became an object of terror. Taking my character into combat armed with both "Force Powers" and a light-saber generally resulted in a massacre of horrible proportions. Throwing the light-saber into a room crowded with storm-trooper resulted in the inevitable mass of arms, legs, torsos and head sliced, cauterized and flying off in all directions leaving the victims on the floor writhing in their death throws. It was a horrendous thing to see.

I recommend this game to anyone, but I do not recommend it for children. The graphic nature of combat really is horrifying if they figure out the cheat codes.

I wouldn't miss it! I may be an oddball but I really had no problem with Jar Jar. Granted, he didn't have the class of R2 or C3PO or even Chewbacca, but he was okay in a quirky kind of way, and he certainly had an appeal for the younger set. My grandson, not yet 2 at the time, just loved him and sat through the movie several times and was very disappointed when it left the theaters. It does look as if Episode II will be primarily a love story and I am interested to see how Lucas pulls it off.

Sure, I'll see it. But for me, the magic was over back in '83 when ROTJ came out. Not even Jar-Jar angered me half as much as those damned Ewoks did back in the day. But at the time EVERYONE loved ROTJ and I could not figure that one out at all. So when I saw TPM and watched thirtysomethings wailing and gnashing their teeth over Jar-Jar, I had to ask: "What did you expect? You ate up those damn Ewoks! You're only getting more of the same!!!"

No matter. Ms. Portman's easy on the eyes and it appears lots of things are gonna blow up real good. That's all I want out of the next Star Wars.

The latest buzz that I have heard is that when the prequal triology is complete Lucas is looking into selling the franchise so that someone can finish the final trilogy (Episodes Seven, Eight, and Nine).

That makes sense because George Lucas is kind of past his prime right now. Usually it takes three years for him to complete one of the movies. So at this rate, the last episode would be completed in 2014, there's no way Lucas will still be producing movies by then!

I won't even bother then. Last 'Star Wars' movie I saw was "Empire Strikes Back"...that was it for me. Spider-Man? I'm there Friday night. That will be our one movie for 2002 (unless that new Bond shows up around Thanksgiving.)
