The mother of all cowardice!

The Mother of all being alive in 1991!

Musta been a pretty lousy birthday party.

How exactly do 100,000 troops desert an army all at once? I think someone would notice them leaving.

Happy 65th birthday Saddam!!

,,, don't know whether I'd believe this. The other 75% of troops [supposedly loyal] would act on orders or of their own volition to turn deserters into moving targets in a regime such as Iraq's. Life has that much value.

Where are they, by chance? All at the Imman Hilton, trying to book rooms?

To: codebreaker
Its in the second paragraph. No, it's not, unless you think 100,000 officers defected.

I think all this drum beating against Saddam by Bush was to give the Iraqi military a time to reflect on the ass kicking they received the last time
There is NO WAY they want to go through that again especially since they are even in worse shape than in 91
I hope that that is what will happen it will save a hell of a lot of lives

to the extent that well over a quarter of the 400,000-strong army are now missing from their posts. Even if that were true, which I doubt, that's hardly the same thing as defecting.
This typifies the problem with posters who make up their own headlines in violation of the rules here.

Negociations today broke off between Saddam Hussien and the Screen Actors Guild when Saddam refused to pay his troops union scale to star in the upcoming production of "Highway of Death II"
