Israeli Bulldozers Destroy Arafat's Convoy Cars

GAZA, Apr 27, 2002 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Israeli bulldozers Saturday destroyed seven armored Mercedes cars that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat uses in his presidential motorcade, official Palestinian sources reported from inside Arafat's office in Ramallah.

The sources said that big Israeli army bulldozers drove into Arafat's compound and began to destroy the cars of the presidential convoy, or what the Palestinians call "Al Muqataa."

Arafat's office staff said that the bulldozers also destroyed the presidential guards' vans and Cherokee jeeps that were parking in the special garage in Arafat's compound.

Meanwhile, Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Minister of Information Yasser Abed Rabbo slammed the Israeli army for putting loudspeakers around Arafat's compound.

The use of those loudspeakers to produce annoying sounds directed at Arafat's main office is "provocative and criminal Israeli army action," the minister charged.

He said that carrying out such an action "approves that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had failed to get rid of President Arafat and break his determination to continue his struggle for the Palestinian independent state."

Hmmm. Maybe it can be arranged for Arafat to share a cell with Noriega. They can then compare notes regarding the blasting of music/noise by loudspeaker.

I'm sure the Israelis took out these vehicles, so Ararat could not hide the wanted men in them, in case he goes to the Church of the Nativity, as is being discussed.

Hmmm...lights out...loudpeakers...where have I seen THIS tactic before? Yasser is about to break if he hasn't broken already, or the good 'minister' wouldn't be WHINING.
