Copper Sunday - a Message to the Catholic Bishops

CATHOLIC ACTION

COPPER SUNDAY

May 19, 2002

If you are Catholic and you favor

(1)ONE STRIKE, YOU'RE OUT,
(2)criminal prosecution of all perpetrators of sex crimes
(whether cardinals, bishops, priests or deacons),
(3)weeding homosexuals out of the seminaries; and,
(4)the promotion of orthodox leaders in the Church

show your displeasure with the current inaction
of the US Catholic Cardinals and US bishops by putting
only a single penny
in the collection basket on Sunday, May the 19th, 2002.

Remember to pray, fast, and make sacrifices for the welfare of the Catholic Church, for the Pope, and for Christ's godly and holy priests.

Remember to pray a ROSARY FOR PRIESTS on Sunday MAY 12th.

"This so-called "unfortunate condemnation of married Roman Catholics" is not Renatus'at all, but the universal teaching of Roman Catholicism."

And pigs fly.

There you go again.

Your completely false and whole cloth fabrication that contraceptives play a role within my marriage is on par with Renatus describing all married Roman Catholics as degenerates - killers of the unborn - asserting the baseless and foolish argument that all Roman Catholics having received the Sacrament of Matrimony must, by default, use contraceptives.

What hospital gave you guys access to a computer?

Forgive me if I have misunderstood you. Renatus made a statement regarding the sinfulness of contraception, for which you strongly criticized her.

I assumed your criticism was not of her but of the RCC teaching against contraception.

To clarify, do you accept and support Humanae Vitae, and you are simply upset that Renatus wrongly assumes most Catholics reject Humanae Vitae?

Or do you reject Humanae Vitae and the RCC teaching that contraception is inherently evil, and if done with full knowledge and consent is mortally sinful?

Its good to know this. Actually I made no such fabrication. My words were simply:

When I see posts such as yours its hard not to conclude that you are trying to rationalize/justify your own mortal sin of contraception and/or sterilization. (Of course, to conclude such would be making a dangerous assumption, so I will refrain from doing so.)

but the universal teaching of Roman Catholicism."

And pigs fly.

Here I do not know if your flying pigs are referring to Humanae Vitae or Renatus, but I assumed the former. Could you clarify?

Let's get this thing back on track.

What I do in my bedroom, or if I'm a 'good' or 'bad' Roman Catholic is way off the mark.

This thread's attempting to cope with molding a logical response to the omissions of an unabashedly arrogant group of men who have lost sight of their vows, the temporal nature of their charge, and the immense harm they have brought within His doors; all under a suicidal Trojan Horse banner titled 'INCLUSION'.

"....it is never lawful, even for the gravest reasons, to do evil that good may come of it ...."
- Humanae Vitae, Encyclical of Pope Paul VI On The Regulation of Birth, July 25, 1968

Rome would do well to heed it own dictum, especially now.

He already did that, allend. Since he became Archbishop he instituted that policy at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

The problem is not limited to priests but pandemic to all of Catholicism, Christianity, and the culture at large.

The problem is the acceptance of the culture of death within the Church.

The culture of death has four chief pillars:

1)contraception,
2)abortion,
3)homosexuality, and
4)euthanasia.

Discussion of Contraception is salient to this thread for one obvious reason:

It's acceptance by Christianity in general and Catholics in particular is the keystone holding up this whole culture of death (see my profile page for more info.)

Homosexual priests cannot call married couples to chastity within marriage because their own sodomitic sin guts their moral standing upon which to make that call.

Likewise, married couples committing the sodomitic sin of contraception lack the moral authority to call others to chastity, because their own sodomitic sin guts their moral standing upon which to make that call.

Renatus was correct to point out this correlation. She sees the big picture.

You apparently do not. I welcome any statement from you that would indicate otherwise, but all you have done so far here is mock faithful Catholics who comprehend the import of Humanae Vitae and the obvious connection between 2 seemingly different sodomitic sins.

I agree with this strategy because money talks when morality has evidently been forgotten.

I could not find an email address for O'Reilly, so I sent the announcement to the head of WND, and asked to post it or send it along to O'Reilly.

Please let me know if there are other ideas. Thanks HM.

Abuse cases making Catholic donors leery
By Rachel Zol....Associated Press writer

Edward Ricci was sickened as he watched his bishop, the Most Rev. Anthony O'Connell, resign in March from the Diocese of Palm Beach, Fla., after admitting to sexual misconduct years earlier in another state.
But Ricci is no ordinary parishioner venting his anger in cyberspace.
He is a major Catholic philanthropist, threatening to withhold his six-figure donation to his church unless the nation's bishops agree to oust all errant clergy. Through his Web site, www.nopeds.org, he is urging other Catholics to join him, and some benefactors already have.

A bump in support.

Rather than the 'copper sunday' I would suggest a petition with your suggestions on line. People may then sign and make appropriate comments. This can then be circulated throughout the country, the internet would be the ideal place to start.....Can you imagine the groundswell, the Bishop's conference in Dallas during the month of June(I believe the date is correct)would have to take serious note of our dissatisfactions.

e.g.,The petition circulated on the Sept.11th concerning the flag raising was a tremendous success...Why not give this a chance.

Thanks for the notice but I don't think I can do that. I go to a very poor, inner-city parish run by Capuchins. By not giving them money will only hurt my pastor and the huge school bills he has to pay. I have let my bishop know how I feel.

Mail in your offering to the parish office and only put a penny in at the weekend Mass you attend.

In any event, a Copper Sunday bump for everyone living in a wretched archdiocese or diocese.

Yeah, I think about the lower-income kids on scholarships at our parish’s school. If enough people withhold their tithe it could easily kick a poor kid or two out of school for the next year.
