Heart of Texas FR Chapter Meeting Sunday(4/28) 3:00 San Marcos

The Heart of Texas(H.O.T) FreeRepublic Chapter Meeting will be on Sunday April 28, 3:00 PM at Montana Mikes in San Marcos.

DIRECTIONS:
From I-35, if you are coming from Austin, then exit # 205 and go through the light and it will be on your right.
If you are coming from New Braunfels/San Antonio then exit # 205, take a left under I-35 and it will be on your right.

We will select an Officer Nominations Committee which will report back at the May meeting with a recommended list of officers. Officer Elections will be held at the June Meeting.

We will also discuss the FR Booth at the upcoming GOP State Convention and the Bill of Rights Rallies.

Any new members may be sponsored by another Active Member. They shall submit their name, FreeRepublic handle, and e-mail address to the Vice-President of Membership at least 7 days prior to the next meeting. Approval of membership shall be by the majority vote of members present at the meeting during which the application is considered.

Thanks for the ping. Unfortunately, I can't make it. Too bad, too. I was born at
Gary AFB, San Marcos. I haven't been back there but a couple of times since we left
when I was 1 year old. Hey, ya know that George Strait got his singing career started in
San Marcos, right??? :O)

Arg, I have a previous committment and can't make the meeting. I have been planning all year to get there sometime in May, however. Please send me more info on the Bill of Rights day. (Are there plans for anything on Mother's Day again?) Thanks.

Well, I'm sorry to say that I can't make this meeting. My 89 yr old aunt over in Smithville had a bit of a fall, and I have brought her to my house for the past few days. I have to take her back to Smithville tomorrow and stay over to take her to her doctor early on Monday.

I sure hope someone will write up a report of the meeting. And BTW, Gracey is in CA so it won't do much good to try to contact her

The next Bill of Rights Rally is planned for Saturday 5/25 1-3PM at the Capitol. The Bat Lady can get you more details if needed.

We basically selected a nominations committee - Groundhog, Tarawa, The Sarce, and myself(pretty much anyone who volunteered with a minimal amount of goading). Our next meeting is set for Saturday, 5/18 3:00PM at the Mexican restaurant at 290 & 71. I mentioned the next Bill of Rights Rally above.
