If you're really from Texas, you should know that Dubya is never going to be a jerk, even to those who richly deserve it. It's not his style, and it never will be.
He appeals to better nature of people, not the vindictive part.
Don't get me wrong. When he makes up his mind to take someone out, you can bank on it. He has stated on the record that the administration has decided that Saddam must go. So he will. He's a dead dictator walking.
But don't look for Bush to stoop to Daschle's level. He won't do it.

DONATE TO JOHN THUNE!
The only way to get Daschle out of the way is by having many people send small contributions to John Thune's campaign. As with all politics, complaints do nothing but money has a profound effect.

I'm sure Dashle would have loved to have ridden on Air Force One with the President, but he was late, he couldn't find the soap box he stands on to give him stature during his speeches. =o)

Maybe a flight attendant insisted he fly with an adult.

Bush has a high approval rating (which was rapidly climbing before Sept. 11 mind you) so kissing up to the Dems is working. Not on the Dems, as you correctly observe, but certainly on the VOTERS. Bush has his eye on the upcoming elections. If he gets the Senate back, he can continue to smile at and kiss the Dems yet get to work without their obstruction. Gamesmanship at work. I think Bush is a natural at it and he isn't just merely executing a cynical strategy out of some theorist's book the way the Clinton's do.

It's called 'killing them with kindness.' Bush seems to have mastery of this technique; a subtleness which escapes many strident conservatives. The technique works, too.

It might be helpful, for the more strident among us, to look at another perspective. And that is that about 97% of the laws passed in the senate are quietly passed by vote, but are not debated. Right now Daschle is the one that controls what gets talked about. Except when Dubya upstages him.

Daschle's upset that President Bush makes him sit in a high chair rather than letting him sit on Bush's lap...

It doesn't show up for me, but I have seen the picture before, from behind. It's a hoot.

"Did they have a booster seat for Dasshole?"
Dasshole is one shrimp who doesn't need a booster seat or a step stool to compensate for his lack of stature. He is so full of hot air that he needs ballasts to keep him floating a foot off the ground, rather than zooming into orbit.
Wonder why he is pushing ethanol rather than breaded shrimp? Either could be a boon for wheat farmers.

Repeating it over and over to ourselves accomplishes nothing. What is not so easy, is to change the situation.
Best way to rectify the situation, will be to regain a majority in the Senate. That will be done, one campaign at a time.

Wish I could post a picture, but I watched Dirty Harry the other night and noticed that the killer in the film (Andy Robinson was the actor) bore an uncanny resemblence to Puff Daschle. This is particularly apparent when you see Mr. Robinson in his role as Liberace.

So, so true! ;-D

"I liked the part about how little Daschle eats. I thought it was probably a veiled reference to his lack of stature." Wish I'd thought of that....love it!!

Thank goodness folks who know how the game is played are in charge.

What does crying Tom get in the way of numbers? I would like to witness when he and his co-horts lose their jobs.

Remember the song by the composer I can't remember? "Short People"? Five years ago, I could have also told you the name of the composer/singer. The lyrics are perfect for Tommy D. "They drive little cars that go beep, beep, beep." LOL The deal is that he has SMALL IDEAS and AMERICA NEEDS REFORM AND REAL LEADERSHIP.

Bugles are his favorite snack food. Their main ingredient is air. And, Mrs. D. is a busy airline lobbyist. They must eat at new age restaurants, like birds.
