Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Gerard Warren pleaded guilty to a gun charge Friday, five months after he was arrested while attending a party thrown by Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress.
Warren, the Browns' top draft pick last year, was sentenced to one year of probation after pleading guilty to the misdemeanor firearms charge.
Police were questioning a passenger about suspected drug use in Warren's Chevrolet Suburban parked outside a nightclub on Nov. 20 when they spotted an empty gun holster.
According to a police report, a . 45-caliber Lock handgun belonging to Warren was found locked inside a console in the vehicle.
Warren had ownership papers for the weapon, but did not have a license for the gun.
Uh, yeah. I had one but I traded it for an Imber. Olt makes a fine firearm as well. Reporters...
Pay no attention to unconstitutional laws.
Yup.
I'm sure you are familiar with the expression: "Lock and Load!"
;^)
Which, coincidentally, is where Gerrard Warren is from.
Since when did you need a license in order to exercise a constitutionally-protected right?!!!
There is no such thing as a "license for a gun" in PA.
PA is a shall issue license to carry state, and this must be what the author is referring to.
In PA, without a carry permit, you are only authorized to transport a gun in a car if it is unloaded and stored in a seperate "compartment" from any ammo.
Additionally, you can only transport it to and from a place of practice (range), hunting, or repair/purchase.
So having a loaded (?) gun, or even an unloaded one outside a nightclub early in the morning is not legal.

Philadelphia at one time had its own laws. But now the laws are uniform statewide and municipalities are forbiddden from enacting any.
