These are the changes that Jean-Marie Le Pen would seek to make if elected president of France, according to his campaign web site, www.lepen.tv :

o Outlaw abortion and end official recognition of same-sex unions.

o Develop programs to increase the birth rate and pay benefits to women who stay at home with their children.

o End legal immigration.

o Deport illegal immigrants and eliminate dual nationality.

o Give French citizens priority for all jobs and public housing; create a separate medical benefits system for foreigners working in France, so that French tax money would not be used for foreigners' care.

o Allow only French citizens to teach in French schools.

o Reinstitute morality classes; require student participation in patriotic events and holidays.

o Outlaw the wearing of yarmulkes and Muslim headscarves in schools.

o Create 200,000 new prison beds.

o Expand and give new rights to the police force.

Anyone know his stance on gun control? That's the easiest way to sepparate the conservatives from the fascists. Do they want armed, responsible citizens, or unarmed victims?

But some of it are scary... o Develop programs to increase the birth rate and pay benefits to women who stay at home with their children

Yes, but that is not nearly as scary as nations which have policies of decreasing the birthrate through abortion and sterilisation, yet those countries somehow get a pass on our moral indignation.

With a few reservations and qualifications, I can sign on to this guy. Some people seem to think it's fascist to regard the well being of your own citizens before the rights of interlopers. I do not understand that logic.

Summer, thanks for the post. The media has been very unforthcoming on all of Le Pen's views it seems. After reading this post, I support Le Pen and think that America needs him, too!

HELLO-O-O-O???!!!!

Are there really Freepers who would support such a program? Would you support a politician in the US who advocated paying mothers to stay home and raise babies? Are you guys nuts?

You're welcome. With all due respect to you, I don't share the view you expressed, but, I was very interested in reading his platform -- and I do realize there are people who will support it.

Well, Le Pen is not really a guy to be proud of. Although some of his election points are nice, he is too far to the right for comfort.

Labour in the UK is afraid to lose voters because of the failed integration in the UK. The left made it impossible for people to discuss that problem, and now they know people will turn against them.

o Develop programs to increase the birth rate and pay benefits to women who stay at home with their children. France is facing a huge demographic problem. There are not enough French babies being born. There are 1.75 children per married woman. This is below the replacement rate of 2.1. However, this figure does not tell the whole story.
There are only 1.3 Children per French-French woman. There are 3.5 Children for 10% of the population that is Muslim. The generation under 10 is now 1/4 Muslim.
The battle of Poitiers is being undone by immigration and low reproduction of French. The sad part is taht this is occuring in every European country. The only country with replacement rate childbirth is Albania, and most of them are Muslim! At this rate, Europe will be muslim in a century!

o Reinstitute morality classes; require student participation in patriotic events and holidays.
This is far better than the PC crap instituted in French schools these days.

o Expand and give new rights to the police force.
I understand your concern. The real question is what powers do the police have now?
From what I have read, police have virtually no search rights in France.

Drudge website has indicated with inserts headed about the distress and hysteria of the British Press. It has given them something to howl about- as if THEY were all that bothered by a Le Pen. The London Daily Mirror is to the fore in this business of screaming about Le Pen.

It could be said of the Mirror ,that it is like an old fashioned woman, of my era in that country. The Mirror has had a jolly good old cry and enjoyed every minute of it.

Few critics anywhere will have actually perused what this man has to say. They just get something second hand and use it as gospel. Herewith a quote:

"The totalitarianisms which modern liberals denounce, and upon which they frequently project their own guilt and insecurity....." From Authority and Delinquency. Author, Alex Comfort. 1950 Routledge and Kegan Paul Ltd. Note that I do not indicate what I think of Le Pen, being as there are two sides to every story.

He's closer to David Duke than anything else.

I agree. Once his changes are made..there's no going back. Sounds very much like Germany in the late 1930's.

STAY HOME and raise kids is what LIBERALS in this country have proposed...

We pay women to stay home and HAVE kids, but I don't see them doing much raising.

We already have a program like that at my house, and it didn't take the government to institute it. But then, we're not French either.

This is the same situation here in the US in some respects: the increase in population (due to the reproductive rates) of Hispanics is about 15%; for blacks it is about 9%; but for whites, I think it is less than 2%.

As for "integration", it expecially failed because that is not the dominant, front line ideology of the "left." Blair, et al. may think so, but they're lost. Multiculturalism is the rave, with denigration of local values, "cultural space" (lebensraum) for other "cultures," enforced "diversity," and separation. It is not an integrationist ideology, but separatist. Philosophically close to apartheid.

I think restricting or eliminating the immigration of Muslims makes perfect sense for France. In every country where they become a sizeable minority - and they are now a sizeable minority in France - they develop separatist and violent tendencies. Why should the French play Russian roulette with freedom by allowing even more Muslims in than there already are?

I see London,
I see France,
I see Chirac
Doing a victory dance.

As interesting as this is, LePen has the proverbial snowball's chance to win the presidency.

The difference is that blacks and Hispanics are not likely to develop into a violent, separitist movement, as usually seems to happen when Muslims reach critical mass in a country. I think I sizeable Muslim minority in a country seriously jeopardizes the survival of democratic institutions.

Expand and give new rights to the police force.

This guy is very scary.

A whole squadron of cheese eating surrender monkey police officers ripping the yarmalukes off people's heads is a bit too 1939 for me.
