Happy Environmental Degradation Day!
Shameless Vanity | 4-22-02 | ThreeYearLurker

I just wanted to get a feel on how Freepers were going to spend Environmental Degradation (Earth)Day. I plan on driving my SUV that gets 8 miles a gallon a lot. Anyone?

Well, mine gets 12mpg, so I guess you've got me beat there. But I did water my lawn this morning and smoked a fine Dominican cigar on my way to work, allowing the smoke to waft out through the window. I'm also running the home air conditioning at full blast. Later I plan to empty an old can of hair spray I've been saving for such an event.

I'm flying to Texas, where I plan to needlessly rent a full-size pickup-truck to drive to my worksite in Kingsville. When I get to my hotel, I'll crank the A/C then head out for a big steak.

Reduce (my exposure to enviro-weenie whining), reuse (an old Clancy book), recycle (the refrigerant in my AC unit repeatedly).

I'll drive my 8 cylinder Transam with greater joy as I visualize pissing on Lenin's grave. Which is his birthday.

If the weather was better (where's Global Warming when you need it?) I'd drive the convertible around for no reason except that I want to. Right now I'm eating a big fat burger, if that counts.

The lefties had their little party at the Metroparks zoo yesterday. Too late, I think of doing something similar to what one of my Browns fans mailing lists (we were one of the originators of online-based guerilla tactics, now called "Freeping") did in 1997. We hired an plane to tow a banner over Camden Yards in Baltimore saying "You keep Modell, we'll take the pennant." Which we did, that night. >:)

Next year, how about a plane towing a banner over their biggest rally somewhere that says "Global Warming is a bunch of Hot Air: www.freerepublic.com"? >:)

I just finished my morning bicycle rige. Four days a week I get up at O dark thirty and do around twenty to thirty miles. Three times a week I do group rides with other cyclists who are also into going fast while riding in packs on bicycles.

I haven't driven autos in almost five years as I don't much care for them, and their need in most people's lives is highly overrated. Of course at age forty-seven I have owned onlyu two cars, a VW beetle and a Ford Pinto, so anyone who know me knows this is nothing new as far as I am concerned.

I have always been a fitness freak, never having smoked, and having not bothered with alcohol beverages since 1989. So, Earth Day isn't playing into my routine at all. ;-)

Very thoughtful of you. I'll burn all your gas in your absence.

It won't arrive in time but I've ordered a early release 2003 Ford Expedition. Does that count for anything?

Yup! The king size version of that family of carnivores. (Ferrets are the pet version.) They are also known as 'stink bears.' ;-)

This is the tenth straight year I have cut down a tree to celebrate Earth Day. I use the wood in my wood burning stove during the winter which emits lots of smoke into the air.

Does anyone have a clue what the enviroweenies expect someone to do on Earth Day anyway? Not that I give a rats rear end what they think, but exactly how is Earth Day supposed to be celebrated?

I'm going to work, go home and then work on a C program for a file structures class.

I suppose that my PC eats up lots of electricity (Athlons are notorious power-suckers) but it's not any different than what I usually do. Don't really have time to go out of my way to send pollutants into the air.

When I get home after my commute, I'm going to park my V-8 and leave it running for an additional 30 minutes. Sure it will cost me a couple bucks in gas, but it's for a good cause!!

Well, in my town they had their little celebration in a city park that is frequented by homosexuals that like to 'hook-up' in bathrooms and under the trees in the park.

I'm sure it was a great place for all the SUV-driving, fast-food eating, air-conditioner using, (not that there's anything wrong with that) suburban hypocrite 'environmentalist' soccer moms to bring their kids for the day.

The ironic part of the whole thing is that you cannot ride your bicycle in the park during the 'celebration'. Damn hypocrites.

I wanted to go down there and do a little 'FReeping' but like most conservative people I have a job and had to work on Saturday.

I like the aerosol can idea, maybe next year I'll walk around spraying aerosol window cleaner into the air just to see their reactions. Knowing how commie left-wing envrioweenies operate, I'll bring some friends and a video camera to record their 'tolerance' of my actions.

I'll drive my SUV to the pistol range, and shoot one of my evil handguns.

Maybe I'll go to the chili place after that--that will create a lot of air pollution!

Drive our large and safe- to- ride- in sedan to Adirondack Regional Airport and try to see the President when he arrives. We saw him come down off the plane but couldn't get very close at all.
