DENVER (AP) -- Two-thousand birth certificates and more than 300 death certificates were stolen from the city's vital records office, and officials fear the documents could be used to create false identities or by terrorists.

The blank certificates and an electronic seal were taken sometime overnight on April 9 or 10, detective John Costigan said Friday. Authorities had no suspects early Saturday.

Probably just the local Democrats, to create voters.

Inside job. In a logical world, all of the employees
would be investigated.

suspicious passports, driver's licenses and other documents.

Perhaps the first indication something may be wrong is a MiddleEastern looking man named Jason. Or the equally supsicious Bahb.

I'm sure it is an inside job. Birth certificates and Social Security cards are stolen around here all the time and used by illegals to take jobs from American workers.

Thirty years ago, when I was working for the Passport Office, a defunct church building was bought out by a cult, which found blank baptismal certificates and the church's seal in the basement. At that time the Passport Office would accept baptismal certificates (purporting to be done shortly after birth) as substitutes for birth certificates. We found out the cult was charging anyone and everyone about $100 per baptismal certificate, made out to any name & date desired. Nobody knows for sure how many dozens or even hundreds of passports, drivers licenses, etc. were issued on the strength of those phony certificates. Thirty years later the price for an official birth certificate form with an official seal imprint must be closer to a thousand dollars each!

This reminds me of a story about South Texas in the late 1950s down in Duval County. The local "Patron" was walking down the street the day after the election that put Lyndon Johnson into the Senate in an election that was rife with fraud and ballot box stuffing and a couple of Texas Rangers deaths.

The Patron found little Jose sitting on the sidewalk in crying his heart out. The Patron asked Jose what is the problem. Little Jose said, "Mi Abuelo regresado de la muerte a votar por Senor Johnson y no visitar mi" (My grandfather returned from the grave to vote for Mr. Johnson and did not visit me)

Or if the birth certificates were really old, look out for suspicious types named Kinchen, Lomer, Otie, or named after one of the Old Testament prophets (Elijah, Malachi, etc).

Probably just the local Democrats, to create voters.

You nailed that one. They call it motor voter. They want them to register, but not vote (at least not early in the day). Then the Rats swing the busses into action and since no ID is required, steal the votes.

DENVER, Colorado (CNN) -- About 2,000 blank birth certificates and 300 blank death certificates were stolen earlier this month from the Denver County vital statistics office in Colorado, a police spokesman said Saturday.

Police Det. John White said terrorist interests -- someone using the documents to illegally enter the United States, take on a new identity or otherwise use them "in a fraudulent manner" -- are "absolutely" a concern. M

Denver police have passed along information on the case to local, state and national law enforcement agencies as well as Interpol, a law enforcement agency that works on cases and with legal authorities around the world.

The blank documents were discovered missing April 9, when an office clerk went into a supply room to retrieve some death certificates and noticed an open package, White said.

A subsequent search revealed that a carton of birth certificates was also gone. Authorities did not find any signs of forced entry in the room, he added.

Police have no suspects in the case.

"One thing that we have going for us is that the birth certificates and death certificates are both numbered," White said. "So if any of these birth or death certificates are used, we'll be tipped off because of the numbers that are on them."

An electronic seal was also stolen, White said, but he declined to elaborate on its function or capability.

You mean as in a private key in a two key digital signature system? Oh goody.

They probably protect the xerox paper and pens better than the birth certificates.

I'm sure it is an inside job. Birth certificates and Social Security cards are stolen around here all the time and used by illegals to take jobs from American workers.

We just had a case here in McMinnville, OR of a Mexican woman who had gotten a job at the local DMV and was "helping"her fellow "Hispanics" get drivers' licenses.

She got arrested after "Helping" with God knows how many fake IDs.

I'm sure she's undergoing therapy and counseling now in an appropriately multicultural setting, though, so everything's OK. Meanwhile, of course, in order to prevent further such incidents, we need to ban... ahh, er... we need to make everybody ah... (sorry, my Liberalthinker is on the fritz; I can't come up with a suitably vile Socialistic non-solution at the moment...).
