Intelligence gathered during "Operation Defensive Shield" indicates that Palestinian Intelligence Chief in the West Bank Tawfiq Tirawi was directly involved in terrorist activities against Israel.
According to interrogations of suspects captured during the IDF operation, Tirawi and his men recruited terrorists, trained them and supplied them with ammunition.
According to IDF sources, Tirawi's orginization knew of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine's terrorist activities, which at a later stage led to the murder of Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi.
3 Palestinians killed as IDF apprehends top Hamas militant
IDF forces apprehended Husam Badran, one of the leading members of Hamas' Nablus military wing - Iz a Din al-Kassam - Thursday, in an operation in the West Bank village of Harvat Beit Hasan, northeast of Nablus.
IDF helicopters fired two missiles at a house with Badran and others inside, killing three Palestinians. An IDF elite unit descended from a helicopter and arrested Badran, who emerged uninjured from the missile attack.
The identity of the three dead was not released, but security sources said that they are most probably Hamas activists.
Badran was involved in all of the terror attacks that were initiated by Nablus terrorists. Among them were the suicide attacks at the Dolphinarium in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem's Sbarro restaurant and the Pesach attack at Netanya's Park Hotel.
IDF withdraws from Jenin
The IDF completely withdrew its forces from the Jenin refugee camp Thursday, and has pulled out most of its forces from the Jenin city. IDF forces pulled back to the outskirts of the refugee camp and are holding on to a few outposts on the outskirts of the camp.
A security source said that IDF forces currently in Nablus and Ramallah will pull out by Sunday.
Israel occupied the cities as part of its Operation Defensive Shield over two weeks ago.
Palestinian sources reported that an IDF force raided the PA communications office in Ramallah, Thursday. According to the Palestinians, a fire broke out in the building due to the IDF raid, causing a great amount of damage.
Palestinians in Ramallah also said that the military had imposed a curfew on the Village of el-Amri near Ramallah. IDF forces detained dozens of residents and entered the village mosque. Palestinians reported Thursday morning that the military had detained 13 Palestinians, some militants, from the West Bank village of Saide near Tuk Karm.
Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said Wednesday night that Israel would try and withdraw from most Palestinian towns occupied during the offensive by Sunday. Speaking at a function to mark Israeli Independence Day, he said he hoped the wanted men currently holed up with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat at his Ramallah compound, and those in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem would give themselves up and end the standoffs.
"It should be clear that we will not be able to leave the area of Bethlehem and the Mukata [Arafat's Ramallah compound] where there are terrorists being hidden until the terrorists are handed over to us," Ben-Eliezer said.
His deputy, Dalia Rabin-Pelossof, said that the army would complete its withdrawal from Tul Karm and Jenin within two days. She however warned that if the terrorist attacks continue, the IDF would have little choice but to return to the Palestinian territories.
Ben-Eliezer also said that the restraint Israel has shown on its northern border should not mislead Lebanon and Syria. He added that Israel will try to find any diplomatic solution to restore quiet to the area, but if the Hezbollah attacks continue, there will be a limit to Israel's restraint.
Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said on Israel Radio Thursday that "creative solutions" would be needed to end the standoffs in Bethlehem and Ramallah and clear the way for a troop withdrawal from all Palestinian-ruled West Bank cities.
Palestinian boy killed by IDF fire
A Palestinian youth was shot and killed Thursday by IDF forces near the settlement of Dugit located in the northern tip of the Gaza Strip.
IDF soldiers opened fire at two youths walking on the beach while carrying a black bag, near the settlement. One of the youths escaped uninjured by foot. Military sources reported that the killed boy was carrying a pipe bomb and he had managed to pull out a knife before he was shot.
Palestinian sources told Israel Radio Thursday that the IDF had arrested 13 Palestinians in village of Sida, near Tul Karm. In the village of Silat al-Hartia, near Jenin, the IDF reportedly arrested 17 Palestinians, including some of its wanted list.
Activists? These guys were into more than just writing political letters and carrying protest signs.
Memo to S. Peres: You may want to consult with Janet Reno about this.
Get em boys!

"But"-Muslims, I call 'em.
"But"-Muslim: "Terrorism is wrong, BUT... occupation, Israeli brutality..., Iss-ah-rey-al this, Iss-ah-rey-al that...".
Interviewer: "Are you justifying these suicide bombings, then?"
"But"-Muslim: [indignant] "No! I have clearly said I condemn terrorism, BUT..." [repeat anti-Jew rant at even greater length]
And those are the moderates. Representatives of MAINSTREAM American Muslim groups repeat these disgustingly pro forma "denunciations" of brutal murder every night on my television.

Sounds like some of your former buds have been advising the IDF on how to do a duet movement on these murdering scumbags! If you don't kill the bad guys with the air attack, be there to arrest them when they stumble out.
Now if we can just do that on the al Fuqra strong holds in Kali and other parts of the US!
No, the activists are the ones all over the talk shows, newspapers, university classrooms, and even Freeper boards. They have swept a mountain of evidence into a memory hole so that they can continue to forward their defense of some of the most murderous and deranged people since the Khmer Rouge.
