Is there a RINO in the Bushes?
Im becoming increasingly disillusioned by the recent actions of the Dub; in fact, its also like this administration has been dubbed in the recording industry sense to play back the Democratic line better than even the Democrats themselves do!
Consider just two items from this mornings papers:
Government Spending: What a great way to celebrate tax filing day. The Bush administration is poised to complete the biggest increase in government spending since the 1960s' "Great Society," the result of conducting the war on terrorism while substantially boosting the education and transportation budgets, according to a detailed analysis of government spending patterns. And in opposition to this, we get our lousy $600 rebate checks and an uncertain trickle up of tax breaks averaged out over what seems like the next millennia
Free Trade: It's steel versus oranges in a battle that's supposed to be about economics, but that economists say is nothing but politics. The European Union said it will introduce new import tariffs totaling $2.1 billion on things like orange juice, textiles and motorcycles. The threat of the new tariffs sent orange juice futures soaring yesterday. Wall Street commodity traders expect the price of orange juice to go up in future months, as producers seek to recover the losses from the new tariffs. Meanwhile, the Bush administration ratcheted up the tariff battle by introducing new 20 percent tariffs on Canadian lumber. I thought the Democrat were the protectionists, but even Clinton wasnt this backward.
There are more, of course: His abandonment of the Bush Doctrine in legitimizing the slimy suicide killers; his cynical refusal to use the bully pulpit of the Presidency to support the nominations of conservative judges and battle the Senate on his agenda; his cave-in on education, including vouchers. The list goes on.
I dont know about you, but Im becoming a little bit suspicious that Dubya inherited the RINO gene from his daddy.
