Ramallah April 12th 2002, Wafa - President Arafat said last night that the Israeli aggressive attack against the Nativity Church in the Holy City of Peace, Bethlehem, is an unforgivable crime, and we shall never spare a drop of our blood in defending it.
When addressing the mass solidarity demonstration in Cairo, last night, through the phone, H.E. said: We are not defending ourselves only, we are defending the entire Arab nation and we shall defend our Christian and Moslem Holy places in Palestine.
H.E. emphasized that the Israeli Zionist Nazi attacks have exceeded assaulting our people they are assaulting our sacred Shrines, Churches and Mosques whether Christian or Moslem, adding that our people will martyr defending those symbols of its existence.
H.E. concluded as saying that we shall pray in the Alaqsa Mosque and in the Sepulcher Church in Jerusalem: They see it far away but we see it very close.

The Palestinian "press" considers Arafat a G-d.

This guy is the general of BS. I would like to remind the world or the other 5 people on this website that the Palis are the ones who are destroying the Christian Holy sites.

I find it interesting to learn that the Church of the Nativity is one of the most Holy sites in Christainity (myself being a Christian) seeing I had never heard of such a building before this week. In fact, I was not aware that Christianity had "Holy Sites" as Muslims use the term...

The Jews are God's Chosen People, and Christians are not. Thus, if Israel wants to attack Christian churches, we shouldn't protest. |

I'm impressed with the way Arafat has improved his skills as far as press manipulation is concerned.
The Arab world in general has caught on to the power of the widespread lie.
My God, he's drawn a moral equivalence between raising young kids to blow themselves up and Israeli "occupation" - which could easily be overcome by non-violence.

Apparently. BTW, I'm a little confused. Is Arafat using the word "Nazi" as a pejorative?
Seeing that his dad or uncle (I forget which) was so chummy with the 3rd Reich people..

As far as I'm concerned, a christian church building is a building and nothing more... it is not the temple of God, despite whatever ostentatious gold leaf and tacky art is used on it to make it look "heavenly" or whatever... As far as who is God's people... That is for God to decide... He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy, and compassion on whom He will have compassion...

The Jews are God's Chosen People, and Christians are not. Thus, if Israel wants to attack Christian churches, we shouldn't protest. Take a deep breadthe and count to three.
Now, lets analyse what is going on in Bethlehem.
About 200 Palestinian gunman stormed the Church of Natvity. Since then Isreal troops have surrounded the church and traded gunfire with the terrorists inside.
Far from showing that Israelis are destroying churches, this shows the opposite. Israelis have not stormed the building. They surrounded it, just as American soldiers or police would in a hostage situation.
Unlike the US at Waco, Israel is not storming the terrorists but negotiating with them.

God has always allowed His Chosen People to kill others who are not chosen, so if Israel kills Christians in these churches, it is ok with God, and should be with us as well.Your statement is not accurate... God at some times COMMANDED His people to kill whom He had judged (ie the sons of Canaan, as prophesied by Noah). But also COMMANDED that they "Love the stranger" and forbid them from oppressing the foreigners who live among them. And also said that all who bless Isreal would be blessed, and all who curse Isreal would be cursed.

If they are commanded to be kind to foreigners, then why are they behaving as they are? |

They were defending themselves when they forced people out of their homes in 1948? |

Sorry dude, you'll have to ask someone older than I am... But from what I understand, the British Territory known as Palistine was divided into the portion west of the Jordan River for displaced Jews (aka ISREAL), and the portion east of the the Jordon (aka JORDAN), for the ARABS living in the British territory formally known as Palistine. But I have to admit, I'm going on what I've been told, not by my own observation. For all I know, the Isrealies might have been total a-holes in 1948, I wasn't there... But I can see what is going on today.
