NJ High School Library Creates Homosexual Section

New Jersey High School Library Creates Homosexual
Section
By Martha Kleder

Trenton, New Jersey’s Central High School plans to institute a “Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender” (GLBT) section to its school library. The move follows a donation of $1,600 worth of homosexual books from the Trenton Gay and Lesbian Civic Association.

Seriah Rein, Concerned Women for America’s New Jersey State Director, says the move borders on illegal. “The school is placing itself in the position of going against the spiritual values taught by parents. Furthermore, by law, as a public institution, the school is to teach and reflect community standards.”

But the proposed GLBT library section goes against still another law governing the actions of the state’s elementary and secondary schools, Rein said.

“New Jersey passed a law last December mandating that abstinence be stressed throughout all sex-ed curriculum. This law was passed in response to the failure of ‘comprehensive’ sex education to reduce the state’s overly high rate of STDs and AIDS,” she said. “Introduction of this propaganda encouraging homosexuality is not consistent with state law.”

Rein notes that the state is currently struggling with an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). New Jersey also has the dubious distinction of having one of the highest rates of AIDS and HIV infection per capita in the nation.

“There is no room for chastity in the homosexual lifestyle — it is defined by its promiscuous nature, especially among men, and the consequences have been devastating,” Rein said. Promiscuity should never be encouraged, she added.

A recent survey found that over 60 percent of female students at Rutgers, New Jersey’s State University, were found to be infected with the incurable Human Papillomavirus (HPV), the leading cause of cervical cancer.

Peter LaBarbera, senior policy analyst for the Culture and Family Institute, said the addition of a GLBT section to a public library is just one example of the kind of push homosexual activists are making into our public education system.

“The advice that homosexual activists give kids — embrace your homosexuality — only harms them. It’s false compassion. Witness the young death ages in the obituary pages of homosexual newspapers, with men dying in their 30s and 40s,” LaBarbera said. “If this new wing can’t be stopped, Christians are going to have to step up to the plate and send this library ex-gay books and other materials that approach the issue from a traditional perspective.”

Peter Frycki, vice president of the Trenton Gay and Lesbian Civic Association (TGLCA), said the homosexual book donation was prompted by several teachers at the school.

“For kids who feel alone, just knowing there is literature out there, that there are communities out there, is important,” Frycki told the homosexual news outlet Gay.com.

School Superintendent James Lytle welcomed the gift, but added that he had no idea how many students identify themselves as “gay,” lesbian, bisexual or transgendered.

“If you’ve got a community with 2,000-plus kids, there are going to be some who need these services,” Lytle told Gay.com.

Rein, however, said the effort by TGLCA is self-serving and aimed at recruitment.

“Distribution of homosexual literature to impressionable schoolchildren at a time when they are still defining who and what they are, is tragic,” said Rein. “All the studies document the confusion that some who are sexually abused or raped have over their sexual identity.”

“Rather than guiding these children to where they can receive genuine help, the school is distributing biased literature,” she added. “No literature putting a white-wash over the practice of homosexuality is going to take away the self-knowledge that is deep within each student that the practice of homosexuality is very wrong.”

“It grieves me that Mr. Lytle has allowed his travesty on his watch, for it is toxic to the student body, especially the homosexual student who is genuinely searching,” Rein said. “Mr. Lytle should reconsider acceptance of this ‘gift.’”

I never heard of any Bishops who actively recruit homosexuals. From what source did you arrive at this information?

The issue is that the Fags, queers, and sodomites should keep their pornography and left-wing agenda out of the schools. We are trying to instill morals and values in our schools, not bring in more smut.

This is a bit absurd.

As Archie Bunker said, "America, the land of Freedom and Liberty, where people come from all over the world to live in their own seperate sections...."

But will they also put Christian books, including the Bible, on the same shelf?

I don't know about the Bible (it might offend atheists and Muslims) but I'll bet you'll find inspirational literature by such illustrious men of the cloth as the Reverend Jesse Jackson, the Reverend Al Sharpton and the Reverend Martin King. Maybe a few Fr. Andrew Greeley novels, too.

I've seen the Bible in the history section of a high school library.

JSteff, we might better state this:

Beyond righteousness and reason, their lies the left.
