I am sorry to interrupt this thread--but I keep asking for help to LOG OFF and no one, including Mr. Robinson, will reply!

What is going on? Please let me know how to log off.

It shouldn't be a problem. Actually I'm not sure just why you want to log off. Usually I just go offline on a dial up, or close the browser on broadband. You don't really have to log off og FR.

But if you really want to log off officially just go here:

Free Republic MAIN PAGE

Scroll down a bit and keep looking at the blue menu on the left side of your window. Pretty soon you see "LOG ON" and "LOG OFF". Click log off and you should be out.

If that doesn't work, but I can't see why it wouldn't, delete the FR cookie in you /windows/temporary internet files folder.

Hope this helps.

LOL! People outside will think you're just too SLOWWW to find it. Everyone should have a basement, dontcha know? Nevermind that the soil is more like concrete here and nevermind that even though Texas is a typically dry and rugged state the flooding is extreme.

Keep looking buddy! LOL!

It's heading our way in DFW.

Another sleepless night for the puppy and for the people who have to listen to him.

I believe the tornado which struck Jarrell, Texas(between Temple and Georgetown) was an F5. It totally leveled a residential area leaving nothing but foundations. It sucked the grass out of the ground and actually pulled hair from animals later found. Some experts have estimated the winds at 170-200 MPH. This occured in 1997 I believe.

As I understand it, the F- levels are determined, not by the wind speed or size of the tornado, but by the damage it causes. So the F-4, F-5, F-whatever, is only anounced AFTER the tornado has passed and the damage is assessed.

Willing to be corrected on this, but that's what I heard a local weather dude say.

I think I just seen that one on TV about a month ago. They said people didn't believe in basements there either.

One guy did make some sort of a bomb shelter like structure under the house slab. It saved his and other families lives.

I think an F5 is around 317 mph.

I heard on the news yesterday that they are getting ready to tear down the Bank One building in Ft. Worth.

My dad had an office on the 20th floor, about halfway up. They found chairs, desks, computer monitors and files from his office on the street below after that tornado hit.

You are probably correct. I am going by what the experts said months after the tornado had struck. Everything above ground where it hit was totally destroyed.

Howdy, Ms. AFM!

Actually, the costs to tear down the Bank One building are more than to just leave it standing. There's so much asbestos in the building, it would have to be dismantled BY HAND. No implosions allowed. The owners have, last I heard, just decided to do nothing.

Oh man. It's so sad to see it now. Are they really just going to leave it? :-(

We're going to get together in May if I can get my act together. This is your heads up to actually open and read any e-mails you get from "me". LOL!

I'd like to do something in April, but I have too many other conflicts to organize anything this month.
